SPE Aberdeen Section are delighted to announce that they are now inviting applications for their student bursary awards that will be awarded early in 2021.

If you are a member of one of our five student chapter universities: Aberdeen, RGU, Dundee, Heriot Watt and Strathclyde then you are eligible to apply.

Applications closed on the 12th December 2020 and the bursaries will be awarded in early 2021

Remember to carefully read the terms concerning eligibility before applying – please also remember to submit your application as a typed document and a pdf.

On November 25th 2020 at 11 am (GMT), the SPE Student Series Europe event will take place. This represent a great opportunity for all the students to meet industry experts and discuss with them some current issues in the oil and gas world with the possibility to receive advises for your career advancement.
We strongly advise to partecipate. The Spe Dundee University will be there!

The new Just Transition & Sustainability Society and AIPN together with SPE, AIEE, and the Energy Institute are running a competition amongst the students of the CEPMLP!!

The competition will take place on Saturday, 1st June 2019 in Building, Lecture Theatre 1.

Next week on Wednesday 13th March 2019, 5PM-6PM, at the Carnegie LT, we are having Mr. Robert Armour talking on:
“The Oil and Gas Authority: Creating a Different Regulatory Environment in a Downturn”

This talk is also supported by our student societies!
Come along and should you think of developing the regulatory system or considering this as your topic dissertation, get him networked with you!

As CEPMLP - UoD students, we must make the most of our time here! The cheapest way of get the networking developed!

The Centre for Energy, Petroleum, and Mineral Law & Policy, University of Dundee, and together with the AIPN, SPE and IAEE student chapter were pleased to have Benjamin Sovacool, a Professor in Energy Policy, from Sussex University coming over to give a talk on Energy Justice.
He has brought many new ideas in regards to research on the energy justice for students and attendance. We even have Professor Gavin Little from Stirling University, the Leader of the Scottish Energy Inquiry. Also he mentioned our own famous researcher Professor Raphael J Heffron and his work throughout his talk.
We are very lucky to be part of the Centre that enable us to meet many great people from various background and expertise!
A big thanks (again) to Professor Heffron, Hugh Gunn, Student's societies, Linn McFarlane, and mostly all the attendance today!
It was a very fruitful talk indeed, and we want to see more talks like this!
PS: the picture does not reflect the number of students, cos we have more students than the picture. Students were having class right after the talk!

We had a great session today at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum, and Mineral Law & Policy, University of Dundee. This session was brought by Mr. Parulian Sihotang the Director of Finance and Monetisation and Mr. Mohammad Kemal the Senior Manager of Strategic Planning, and both are from the SKKMigas, the Special Task Force for the Upstream Industry, Republic of Indonesia. The talk was on the Energy Reform in Indonesia - from PSC to Gross Split PSC and was attended by 70 plus people. We were also very grateful that we have our energy economist - Dr. Ariel Bergmann coming to give a talk on Gross Split that he wrote.
The talk went very well and student were very enthusiastic! Thank you to Prof Raphael Heffron, Hugh Gunn, Janet Liao, the SPE University of Dundee Student Chapter-Silas Sanni and Firdaus Designerindy who were being great photographer and publication, as well as all those who were involved in this success, and mostly thanks to all of the attendance!
