What a month June has been! Crazy Crew took part in the 30 Days Wild challenge, and we truly embraced every kind of weather nature threw our way — sunshine, showers, wind, and even hail! As we wave goodbye to June, we’re welcoming July with open arms (and maybe, hopefully a sunhat or two!) and our bear‑themed summer adventures! Here’s to a month of laughter, learning, and wild discoveries! 💛

Yesterday I spent the day at a PlayDay conference at Queen Margaret Uni. It was a full day, with keynote speakers in the morning and workshops in the afternoon. It was absolutely brilliant. The speakers were from organisations that I've done loads of training with over the years and all are advocates for and in particular outdoor play. It was really inspiring listening to them and also listening to some research of people who are doing PHDs based on all things play. The workshops were good fun as well. It has reinforced the importance of outdoor play, and how it is absolutely pivotal to children's development and wellbeing.

Being a childminder isn’t about “managing chaos”, it’s about creating calm in the simplest places. Out in the woods, following the burn, listening to the water, spotting bluebells and foraging wild garlic together — just gentle learning through nature.
These calm, wild moments are what childcare can be — not just keeping children busy, but giving them adventures, freedom, and connection to nature.
Scottish woods are the best classrooms!

A great start to the week! A wee trip to South Queensferry and then the afternoon at The Tulip Festival, Craigies Farm 🌷
