You may have spotted Maki in a few of our recent posts. He completed his Activity/Sports First Aid qualification with Coralshore back in March, and since then he’s been gaining hands-on work experience with us.
Maki has taken on the role of casualty during our outdoor and paediatric first aid courses, and today he reached another milestone—training in infant CPR in line with the latest guidelines.
What you’re seeing here is the result of just 15 minutes of training (and quite a few retakes!) to produce this short demonstration. There’s still a bit of polishing to do, but this is a fantastic achievement. In a real-life situation, Maki would absolutely be giving an infant a strong chance of survival.
At this rate, I might be able to retire early and let him take over.

Our outdoor first aid course wrapped up yesterday after two action-packed days of learning, teamwork, and plenty of hands-on scenarios.
Huge credit to all of our learners and volunteer casualties who absolutely smashed it from start to finish 👏
From dealing with realistic incidents outdoors to battling the ever-changing Scottish weather, everyone showed fantastic enthusiasm, resilience, and teamwork throughout. Safe to say the rain only added to the realism! 🌦️
