🎓 Three Incubees Secure A Total of £285k at Scottish EDGE! 🏆

One, Two, THREE businesses from the Edinburgh Business School Incubator 🚀 have secured a total of £285k in Scottish EDGE Round 20! 🤘🥳🤘

One current and two former Incubees 💡 based at the Incubator, which is ⚡ powered by UNpreneur, won £210k in 💸 prize money and £75k in advertising spend with 📺 STV.

🚲 Meander Apparel - which produce versatile, technical clothing for everyday adventures using sustainable materials.

🎓 Argyle IT & Education Limited - are using platform technology to increase access to higher education in West Africa.

🦾 Bioliberty - are empowering every human to live a longer independent life through assistive and rehabilitative robotics.

🥳 UNpreneur Team Night Out! 🎉

We have had a great year working together virtually, however, nothing beats meeting up in-person! 🤜💥🤛 This has been challenging due to 😷 k*v*d, and the fact that we live in different parts of the 📍 UK.

Last week, we had an AWESOME team night out. 🔥🤘🔥

The ideas, chat and nonsense were flowing in equal measures! 💡🤯🤡 We had so many break-through ideas that we can't wait to explore further. 💪

The ⚡ energy and 🎭 kreativity when we're physically together just can't be achieved virtually.

Virtual is great, however, in our experience, in-person is where the real magic 🔮 happens.

🗞️ "We've Been Able to Hire For the First Time" 🚀

Great press feature of Abdhesh Kumar, and his Copper & Carbon in The Guardian! 📰

Thanks to the UK Government's Kickstart scheme, Abdhesh was able to hire the first team members 🤜💥🤛 for his fledgling business. This allowed him to make drastic progress 💪 as previously, it was only him working on the business.

Copper & Carbon's mission is to reduce ♻️ CO2 emissions, and the team are working on a product to help increase the efficiency of 🌬️ wind turbines.

Abdhesh is an ⚡ electrical engineer graduate 🎓 and his business is an Incubee in the Edinburgh Business School Incubator 🚀 based at Heriot-Watt University.
