The final meeting update of the year.

A productive meeting despite it being the end of the year with several important motions passed to prepare for next year and a valuable update from the UCU.

Congratulations to Lucas the new Health Sciences School President we look forward to seeing what you bring to the SRC and your school.

The end of the year approaches and exams are well underway but we have one final SRC meeting.

We're looking ahead in this meeting with motions which will ensure the SRC is more representative and effective next year.

Trans and Non-Binary Swim Session 5th May 2:30-3:30pm in the Swimming Pool.

our LGBTQ Rep has set up another Swim Session following last year's motion to set up the group. If you're interested make sure to go along.

Your monthly SRC update 📢📢

A busy month with lots of discussions in a meeting which could've been a lot longer if we had had time. You can view the meeting via our Linktree.

Previously proposed Bye-Law changes were clarified and discussed and ultimately passed by the SRC. These changes affect the DUSA Disciplinary Procedure and Code of Conduct, the Elections Process and the makeup of the SRC.

A motion was passed that would ensure assignments were given out at the start of the semester with the hope of reducing student stress and improving the quality of work.

The focus of this month was on a motion to censure the Exec team. It was felt by members of the SRC that the Exec team had failed to act on the Strike Action motion passed in January. This motion condemns that inaction and calls for the Exec to consider their role and effectively support the strikes and students. The motion was passed.

Using our Student Voice Hub (Link in bio) a student submitted and presented an idea for a night bus shelter. This idea was discussed and support shown.

The 2023 Student Election nominations are open NOW!

You have until March 22nd to put yourself forward for the DUSA Exec or a Student Leader position.

These are critical roles in the student representation structure of the University and take part in the SRC.

Your Monthly SRC Update is here! 📢

A productive month with some important updates regarding the UCU strike action and the Student Executive Team. They have agreed to speak with the UCU and circulate useful information to the Student Community. They will also engage in talks with the University Court and Executive Group and individual members of the Exec may choose to attend the picket lines. An additional motion to raise awareness of Trade Unions was also passed.

The support motion was passed - a valuable organisation now with SRC endorsement.

2 additional trustees were approved and appointed to the Board of Trustees.

Councillors were invited to assist with the reconstruction of the GBV page on the University website and a working party was set up.

We look forward to seeing the outcomes of this month's work - make sure to follow us for updates!
