The theorist Erik Erikson’s (1902-1994) lifespan approach is based on the view that relationships between children and older people bring benefits to both.
At Bridgeview Care Home we took part in arts and crafts activities with the residents and we also sang songs after a drink of juice with a biscuit. We have to say, Joyce was our favourite 😃
Bringing together older and younger generations, we give the children and adults a chance to develop new relationships.
We very much enjoyed this visit and will be looking forward to the next one… ❤️

We would like to say a big thanks to Stephen from Casa Di Gelato Dundee who visited Roseangle House Nursery today. Children and staff all had a treat of an ice cream and we were very excited to see the ice cream van outside the nursery. Stephen catered for all children with different allergies and preferences too, of which we are very grateful. ❤️🍦🍨

Look at all the learning going on in these photos, all through playing outside. ❤️
Our outside play equipment forms the core of our play area and plays a pivotal role in promoting physical, social, and cognitive development in the children. From the swings to the slide, climbing structures, each piece of equipment serves a specific purpose in enriching the children's play experiences. ❤️

🚒 We would like to say a big massive thank you to Blackness Road Fire Station for visiting us today. The children absolutely loved this, and staff too! 😃
We arranged for them to visit after the children’s big interest in emergency vehicles. 🚒❤️
The fire fighters talked to us about what they did at work, what number we should call for an emergency and showed us all their important equipment. We even used their hose, sat in the fire engine and listened to their siren with the blue lights on. 🚒
As you can see, this was very much enjoyed and we really appreciate them visiting to educate our children. Thank you! ❤️

The children of Roseangle have a very big interest in Lego.
The lego allows the children to use their imaginations by creating whatever structures they can dream up using the pieces of different shapes and sizes. In addition, Lego helps children of any age with their fine motor skills, focus, hand-eye coordination, problem solving and collaboration.
Construction block play, including with Lego bricks, offers a full spectrum of benefits to the budding mind. Some of these benefits are found in the usual areas, such as math, spatial activities and early engineering skills.

Our local library is a regular visit for the Roseangle children. Books are such a huge interest. They love taking part in the educational story telling sessions with the librarian and are able to peruse the books available. 📚❤️
As the book-lending service is at the heart of library life, it’s an excellent opportunity to teach children to be responsible and considerate. They will learn to look after things that aren’t theirs, the process of borrowing, reading and returning the book and also teaching them respect and time management. 📚❤️
