NEW EVENT THIS WEEK! 👀🙌

We've teamed up with The University of Dundee's Leverhulme Research Centre for Forensic Science and Dundee Sheriff Court to bring you a brand new event - 'The Evidence Chamber'.

A murder has been committed. There’s a suspect but the evidence doesn’t paint a clear picture. How will you, the jury, reach a decision?

This experience asks how we respond to different types of evidence, its presentation and how our preconceptions can affect decisions.

How will you vote? 🤔⚖

This Thursday 29 September at 2pm, Dundee Sheriff Court. Limited spaces left so book now! dundee.ac.uk/reach/events

Update: New Reach Officer! 🥳 Chris Whyte Reach Tayside

Reachlings, please join me in welcoming Chris Whyte (pictured below!) to the Reach Tayside Project! ⭐

As some of you may know, your current Reach Officer for Medicine and Dentistry, Amy Stewart Reach Tayside , will be heading off on maternity leave at the end of this week (Fri 9 July) to welcome her first baby into the world! She'll be back in 2022 to hear how you are all getting on! 👶

Alastair Stark , who currently leads on the Law strand of the project, is also due to depart at the end of July to embark on a new venture, studying at university in St. Andrews! 📚

But don't worry! Chris is here to fill the Reach shoes, and to give you all the support you need moving forward with your journeys to Medicine, Dentistry and Law. We are so excited to have him join the team, and know that you are in very safe hands moving forward with your applications! 💪😊

‼️ Attention: Important Information about Reach Tayside UCAT Support: Summer 2021 ‼️

For Reach Tayside pupils who are either moving into S6 after the summer & are planning to apply for Medicine or Dentistry for 2022 entry, or for those who are taking a gap year and reapplying for 2022 entry - PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAILS! 📧
We have been in touch with you directly to start the process of arranging our bespoke UCAT Tutoring, which takes place over the course of 7 weeks from late June - early August. 🗓
These sessions are completely FREE & I cannot stress how important they are in helping you to prepare for this part of your application.
Our tutors are current medical & dental students, who have extensive experience in tutoring pupils for the UCAT. All sessions will take place online & we are in the process of arranging small groups to meet with an assigned tutor on a weekly basis for 7 consecutive weeks.
At each session, you’ll take time to delve into each section of the test in detail, do practice questions as a group and gain invaluable tips and guidance from your tutor. 🙌
If you are in S6 or are planning to reapply & have not yet received an email about these sessions, please get in touch with us ASAP by emailing [email protected]
We also have Practice Question books available to loan to pupils who are signed up for tutoring - again, please check your emails and get in touch with us about this! 📚
We really hope you take up this opportunity – the UCAT is such an important part of your application, & can make the difference between being offered an interview or not – so we strongly encourage you attend. ‼️
