A fantastic catch up today with some new opportunities on the horizon which I’m very grateful for, and it really means the world to have someone like Alison who believes in you and in what you’re doing - someone who knows what it’s like in sport, in business, and in general life (the good and the hard bits), and I’m very thankful to have her in my corner🙏🏻

Also great setting the world to rights too 😉🤣

Upper-stage primary teachers (P5-7) - this post is for you!!

Would you like a few FREE PE lessons for badminton?? Would you also like a few linked IDL lessons to do in the classroom alongside these PE lessons?? If so, read on….

We are offering a free sample trial of the first three of our badminton lessons to watch with your pupils and complete in the gym hall, including:
🏸 learning intentions,
🏸 warm up and key activities,
🏸 ideas for discussion, differentiation and extension.
These PE lessons are designed and demonstrated by a former international badminton player who is also a fully-qualified primary teacher.

Also included, are a few cross-curricular lesson suggestions to link learning across the curriculum, including ideas for literacy, numeracy, health and wellbeing, expressive arts, social subjects and technologies.

The full programme will be available soon, but I’m looking for teachers to try out the badminton resource and come back with feedback once the lessons have been carried out.

It was exciting to get the work gear on and get back out to talking to teachers who are embracing what Sport ConnectEd is and how it can impact the classroom and their practice 🙌🏻

I had a great meeting with Jill and Michael today at Thornton Primary School in Fife, and can’t wait to see how things go with their classes using two of our packs ☺️ What’s even better is that I actually trained as a primary teacher with Jill’s lovely mum, Judith, so to have Jill (who I remember being about 8yrs old 🫠) using it is amazing 🤩 To see teachers genuinely enthusiastic and excited about using the resource left me buzzing, and they just ‘get’ what it’s all about and everything it can bring to the pupils in their classes 🥹 I also saw another friend from uni who works at the school, the lovely Fi, so all in all it was a bloody great afternoon 🥰

Excited to get next term up and running with two fantastic teachers from Glebelands in Dundee also using our second level resources, and I’m also looking forward to another couple of meetings next week to set up trials of our early level packs 🙌🏻

‼️ Looking for a P1 teacher to trial one of our classroom learning packs based on one of these books, and in addition to the tennis PE lessons for early level.

Within each pack are lessons across the curriculum to link the gym hall to the classroom, and the PE lessons provide progressive and structured content, pre-recorded and accessed online with written lesson plans for the teacher too. Key teaching points are included, as well as ideas for differentiation, extension and discussion.

I’m looking for this to be done next term, so from October-December and the teacher must be willing to provide feedback and complete an evaluation, as well as sending some examples of the work completed in both the classroom and the gym hall.
