Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM)

At our recent AGM, we did not have enough attendees to elect our new committee or make key decisions for the upcoming school year.

To support the Parent Council and our school through this really important period of change, we are hosting an EGM.

🗓️ DATE: Monday 7th September
⏰ TIME: 7:00 PM
📍 LOCATION: The Main Hall, John Muir Campus
☕ BONUS: Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided!

WE NEED YOUR HELP
We have several critical vacancies that we must fill to keep going:

✅ Treasurer
✅ Cove Representative
✅ Nursery Representative
✅ Class Representatives (multiple year groups)

We're delighted that Mr Gillies will also be attending.

Parent Councils are tasked under legislation with working with schools to raise standards of education, secure improvements in quality of education, and develop pupils to their fullest potential.

We have been working hard in the last few years to ensure that the families at Dunbar Primary School have more of a voice in these areas, as well as continuing the fundraising and community activities that might be more traditionally associated with a PTA.

But the Parent Council will really struggle to operate, fundraise, and advocate for our children without a complete team.

Whether you want to take on a role, represent your child’s year group, or just sit in the background and see what we do, your presence matters.

Volunteers & Coaches Needed

We're also looking for coaches, parent helpers and volunteers to support our P1-P3 activity programme.

Unfortunately, we've lost several volunteers over the past year, meaning we're currently able to offer fewer opportunities for our youngest pupils. If you'd like to help children get active, build confidence and have fun, we'd love to hear from you.

✅ Flexible volunteering opportunities
