Dunbar is one of the premier places for sport and physical activity in East Lothian, with outstanding facilities and strong community support. e set to launch in September and as well as the main stream sports on offer, children will be given the opportunity to take part in new and exciting activities. Active Schools has strong links with local clubs and are providing the perfect pathway for the young people of Dunbar and surrounding area to participate in sport. Total Adventure see’s a boost in the new school year with Wakeboarding, Rock Climbing, Surfing and Sailing added to the list. If your child wants a new challenge then total adventure is the way to go. Active Schools provide the opportunity for children to obtain lifelong participation in sport so why not come along and give it a go!

🧗‍♀️ROCK CLIMBING RETURNS🧗‍♂️

Our Rock Climbing sessions are back by popular demand. Sessions are designed to develop confidence, coordination and climbing skills in a fun and supportive environment. These sessions will introduce children to the basics of rock climbing, including climbing techniques, safety procedures, and problem-solving skills through a range of age-appropriate activities and challenges 🤩.

Class Information:
⏰1:30-2:30pm - P1-3 Beginner Class (accompanying adult must stay and be willing to help their own child where necessary)
⏰2:30-3:30pm - P4-7 Beginner Class
⏰3:30-4:30pm - P4-7 Intermediate Class (must have previously completed the beginner class or have suitable climbing experience)

Venue: Foresters Park Indoor Climbing Wall

Bookings open at 5pm on Tuesday 25th August 2026, spaces fill fast so be sure to book quick to avoid dissapointment.

Volunteers & Coaches Needed

We're also looking for coaches, parent helpers and volunteers to support our P1-P3 activity programme.

Unfortunately, we've lost several volunteers over the past year, meaning we're currently able to offer fewer opportunities for our youngest pupils. If you'd like to help children get active, build confidence and have fun, we'd love to hear from you.

✅ Training and support available through Active Schools
✅ Flexible volunteering opportunities
