🏕 🔥 Campfire

Today the children requested pasta in our Dutch oven.

We all worked together as a team looking at the recipe and preparing our one pot pasta.

Then we headed to the campfire all having a try of our pasta. 😋

🥐End of term team breakfast ❤️

A little end of term appreciation breakfast for our amazing team! 🥰

We wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone for all their hard work, dedication and commitment throughout term 1.

Working in early years is so much more than a job, and we are incredibly lucky to have a team who put so much love, care and effort into everything they do for our children and families. ❤️

From the big things to the little things that often go unnoticed, we appreciate every single one of you and everything you bring to First Steps Nursery.

Thank you for being such a fantastic team. We appreciate you more than you know! 🫶🏼

Our Giant Leapers have been busy putting some of their fundraising money to fantastic use, purchasing a brand-new Dutch oven for our fire circle! 🥰

The children enjoyed a wonderful campfire session with our Manager, Sarah, and it has quickly become a much-loved part of our outdoor environment. Now, with our new Dutch oven, we can take our fire circle experiences even further! 🌿🔥

We’re excited to start introducing regular campfire experiences for the children, giving them opportunities to cook outdoors, explore fire safety, develop practical skills, work together and experience the joy of preparing food in the great outdoors.

There is something truly special about gathering around a fire, learning together and enjoying the experience of cooking and eating food that the children have helped to prepare. ❤️

What a fantastic resource and an incredible opportunity for our children to learn, explore and create memories together! 🌳🔥🍲

Over the past couple of weeks, First Steps room have made several trips to the library. We have enjoyed the learning opportunities that the library have given us such as drawing, reading, building and socialising in the community. We can confidently take out and return books that we read with our friends at nursery! Can’t wait for our next visit! 📚

🐝 Number Hunt 🐝

Yesterday we went a walk in the community to look for the bumble bee number pebbles. The children were set the task to find the numbers and identify them. After this we gave the children a number and their task was to find the correct amount of leaves. To end the session we completed some simple addition sums.
