NBEC, our Level 6 Beauty Therapists, have been incorporating electrical machines into their facials this block. 💆‍♀️

✨ Facial galvanic is a deep cleansing treatment to remove impurities and congestion. Teamed with high frequency for antimicrobial effects, which can reduce acne and inflammation.

We have received a lovely review from a Client who had a full body aromatherapy massage from one of our HNC Beauty students this month.

"I recently visited the Beauty Therapy Department of Dumfries and Galloway College. My treat was a full body aromatherapy massage with a 3rd year student.
I cant praise her enough. From the minute she introduced herself and seated me for my pre-treatment consultation I was already impressed. The consultation was thorough and she gathered the information that she needed to give me the best experience.
She chose the necessary oils etc which would suit what I was looking to gain from the treatment.
The massage itself was amazing. The depth of the massage was as we discussed. The oils aroma and the movement of massage made me feel very relaxed. And through out my visit I was treated with care and my dignity always respected.
This young lady has a great career ahead of her."

Last week as part of Mental Health Awareness week, our CDBQ Level 2 Beauty Therapists volunteered some of their time to offer students and staff free hand and arm massages!
With 4 lovely scents of hand cream to choose from, from CJP Nail Systems! I think Paradise was the firm favourite 💚

This block we have had members from the DG MEFM Network using our hair salon at the Dumfries campus.

“It's been great fun attending the college hairdressing sessions as a model for various students. They all performed very well, were friendly and talkative and always made a very good job of doing my hair. With fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis, I find it hard to stand for any length of time in the shower and, in particular, to lift my arms to wash my hair myself. It's therefore extra pleasant for me to have someone take care of me and do this for me. It's also extremely good value and I trust that I'm adding value to the students' portfolios too as their model. I'd highly recommend this treat to anyone able to attend.”

HNC Beauty students at our Dumfries campus successfully planned and delivered a fully operational salon experience for their Graded Unit 1, showcasing both their practical and professional skills.
As part of their assignment, the group designed and produced their own marketing materials, client record cards, booking system, aftercare leaflets, and thoughtfully prepared gift bags to enhance the overall client experience.
On the 6th of May, the students brought their vision to life, transforming their learning environment into a vibrant, client-focused salon. Demonstrating excellent teamwork, organisation, and customer service, they welcomed an impressive 46 clients through the salon doors all receiving a variety of treatments, inclusive of combination, single, short, with two clients receiving multiple treatments.
The event not only highlighted their technical abilities but also their readiness for the professional beauty industry.
