We hope you all have a lovely day whatever your plans are!
Being a Mum/Parent is the hardest job in the world and we’d like to take a moment to say we see you and the hard work you put in to raising such special little people. It is a privilege to have all of your children in the nursery and they are a credit to you all.
As always we are thinking of anyone who finds today difficult and send lots of love your way.

Primary 1 enrolment information…

Please attend your catchment school any day next week taking a proof of address and your child’s birth certificate to enrol them of the school of your choosing. The school will provide the relevant forms you require.

Children in Scotland usually start school between the ages of 4 years 6 months and 5 years 6 months old. All children who are 4 years old at the start of the school year can defer and start primary one the following year.

Parents/carers are asked to attend their catchment school to request a place at either their catchment school or a non-catchment school for their child(ren). Parents/carers are required to bring along proof of address and the child’s date of birth and baptismal certificate/supporting letter (for Roman Catholic schools only), between Monday 2 February and Friday 6 February.

Details of catchment schools can be found at https://www.dumfriesandgalloway.gov.uk/schools-learning/schools/primary-schools/primary-school-place. Enrolment by the appropriate date is particularly important in light of the legislation regarding parents' choice of school to be attended.

A gentle reminder that all ELC 1 and 2 enrolment forms are due in by the end of day on Friday.
If you require any help in completing the forms or would like to pop in for visit feel free to come along between 8.30am and 3.30pm tomorrow or Friday.

Just a reminder that we are hosting an open afternoon this afternoon. We have spare ELC 1 and 2 enrolment forms here for families who may not have receive their child's form yet or are hoping to do a split placement at our setting and would like to enrol this afternoon/take the forms away. Families ahve until he 23rd of January to decide on a nursery so please feel free to come along for a visit and take away a handbook wiht no pressure to enrol today.
If you are enrolling today please bring your child's birth certificate and proof of address.

We are hosting an open afternoon this Monday for any families who would be interested in enrolling their child(ren) with us for any of the intakes (August, January & April) for the academic year 2026/27.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Cargenbridge Nursery 🎄🎄🎄and they’re celebrating early after receiving their Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland Early Learning accreditation!
The team were delighted to show off their certificate (and their Christmas jumpers) as they continue to create a welcoming, inclusive environment for families.

Despite the rain, our Christmas Sing-along will still be going ahead this afternoon 4.30pm-5.30pm.
It will all be indoors in nursery due to the weather but we have opened up the space to allow us to accommodate everyone.
To help reduce the spread of the winter bugs we will not be doing our singing inside, therefore we will have a video of the children singing playing in the room for parents to watch and sing along to if they wish to do so. This allows us to spread Christmas cheer while keeping us all safe from the winter bugs doing the rounds.
We have lots of great tombola, bottle stall and raffle prizes alongside a baking stall, hot chocolate stand and handmade items by the children for sale. They’re may even be a special visitor arriving.
We are open to past, present and new families and look forward to seeing you all tonight.
