Thinking about a career in care? Our Lone Parent Care Academy is starting this October. 🌟

The free five-day programme has been designed around childcare commitments, with training, a free crèche, lunch and travel expenses all included.

📍 Phoenix Centre, Dumbarton
🕙 10am–4pm

There’s also the opportunity to complete a two-week placement in a local care home following the course.

Are you a lone parent interested in starting a career in care? 🌟

Our Care Academy is back this October, offering a week of training and support to help you take your next step.

Taking place from the 12th to the 16th of October 2026 at the Phoenix Centre, Castlehill, Dumbarton, the programme has been designed with childcare commitments in mind.

✔️ Training from 10am to 4pm each day
✔️ Free crèche throughout the course
✔️ Cooked lunch for parents and children
✔️ Travel expenses covered
✔️ No cost to take part

Following successful completion, participants will have the opportunity to undertake a two-week placement in a local care home, with hours of 10am to 2pm. This could lead to a job interview and potential employment in the care sector.

Free children’s soft play sessions in West Dunbartonshire!📣

West Dunbartonshire Council are offering two free soft play sessions for children, giving parents who are unemployed or in low-paid employment the opportunity to find out more about the support available to them.

The sessions provide a chance for children to enjoy some play time while parents can have a chat and ask questions.

Are you interested in a career in Marine Engineering?

We are pleased to offer an exciting college course in partnership with West Dunbartonshire Council and Anniesland College. This is a fantastic opportunity for just 20 candidates to gain the Performing Engineering Operations Level 2 (PEO2) VQ qualification and take the first step towards a rewarding career in engineering.

The course will run from August 2026 to March 2027, with attendance at college three days a week.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, we'd like to invite you to an information session on Wednesday 5 August at 2pm at Tell House, where you can find out more about the course and ask any questions you may have.
