Happy father's day to all our families 🐝

This week we have had a special delivery.

Our caterpillars have arrived and over the next few weeks the children will watch them grow, change and develop into butterflies before we release them.
This aligns with one of our favourite books 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar.'
This will help the children develop an understanding of growth, decay and changes over time.

Monday 8th June was Ocean Day.
The children have made a cardboard tube octopus, before they coloured in their choice of sea animals and made scales on a fish using their fingerprints for our window display 🌊🐚🐠🦑🦀🐢🐡.
The children have also been playing a fishing game and played with the sea animals in the small world area.
Our book of the month for June is Jolly Olly Octopus 🐙.

Last week a child had put in their home school book that their favourite book is 'The Paper Dolls' by Julia Donaldson.
Their parent very kindly gave us some cardboard cut outs and the children enjoyed decorating their own paper doll before adding it onto the display making our own paper doll chain.

Happy St. George's Day 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿.
The children have made shields with the St. George's cross on using red insulation tape using new words such as horizontal and vertical as they placed the tape down, learnt the story of George and the dragon before role playing it out
