As another academic year draws to a close, we wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of the Tameside Music Service family this year.

From first lessons, rehearsals to concerts, festivals, performances and everything in between, it has been a year filled with wonderful music making.

As always, a massive thank you goes to our dedicated team of tutors and support staff whose passion, commitment and hard work make all of it possible. We'd also like to thank our schools, partners, parents and carers for your continued encouragement and support throughout the year.

Most importantly, well done to all of our students. Whether you performed on stage, attended rehearsals every week, picked up an instrument for the very first time or worked towards a personal goal, you have all done yourselves proud.

We hope everyone has a safe, restful and well-deserved summer break. See you in September!

Last Friday, we hosted an ABRSM Public Visit, giving musicians from across the local area the opportunity to take their ABRSM exams at our centre. Next Monday, we’ll be welcoming students for an ABRSM Private Visit, which is exclusively for those who take lessons with us at Tameside Music Service.

We’re also hosting two days of Trinity College London Music and Drama exams this Thursday and Friday, covering both their Rock & Pop and Classical & Jazz syllabuses.

At Tameside Music Service, we encourage all of our students to work towards graded music exams as part of their musical journey, although its not compulsory. We believe exams provide a valuable learning experience, helping students develop important skills such as setting goals, working towards deadlines, preparing thoroughly, and performing under pressure. Most importantly, they give students a real sense of achievement and recognition for their hard work and progress.

If you'd like to learn more about our lessons or the exam opportunities available, please visit www.tamesidemusicservice.co.uk or contact us via email at [email protected].

What an incredible Sunday we had at Band on the Wall for our Feel The Beat festival!

The whole venue was alive with energy, and the talent and passion of our young musicians, from both local schools and our Band Skills groups, was electric. We saw powerful performances from veterans of previous years alongside some brilliant first-time gigs. Regardless of experience, every act brought something special and helped make the day unforgettable.

A huge shoutout to all the performers from Hyde High School, Mossley Hollins, Droylsden Academy, St Damians RC Science College, All Saints Catholic College, Alder Community High School, Dixons Academy Ashton, Fairfield High School for Girls, Audenshaw High School, Trinity Christian School, St Josephs Primary, Greenside Primary, Clarendon Sixth Form, and Oldham College, as well as, of course, our fantastic Band Skills groups.

We’re so proud of every young person who took to the stage. Your confidence, teamwork, and love for music were inspiring to watch, and everyone truly brought their A-game.

Thank you, as always, to our fantastic staff who make these events possible, and to everyone who came down to support our young people—you all made Feel The Beat such a success. A special thank you as well to the team at Band on the Wall for being such amazing hosts. Here’s to even more music, more opportunities, and more moments like this in the future!
