How are we finding ourselves at the end of Term 4 and another busy school year?! This term has really been the quickest, once again filled with lots of fun-filled adventures!
We returned after the Easter break to a fantastic new outdoor shelter. This has been a huge benefit to us, giving us some much-needed cover from the rain. We really are an outdoorsy bunch, so this has been a great way for us to be able to stay outside during all weathers ππ£
We continue to build our strengths within the community and are always looking for different ways to do so. We had a lovely visit from one of the children's grannies, where she delivered a great gardening session. The children really enjoyed planting their own seeds and were really proud of their gardening work. πΈ
The children enjoyed something a little different this term. The ladies from the ball group kindly sent the children an invitation to spend the morning with them. We took part in lots of different activities and had such a great time!! It's great to see the children engaging with different generations. π
This term, we introduced Special Guest time, inviting parents, carers, grandparents, aunties, uncles, and other family members to spend time with the children. Guests have shared stories, hobbies, musical talents and special interests, creating wonderful learning experiences for everyone involved. This has been a huge success with visitors, including teachers from other schools. We have also had the opportunity to share our special guest time with children and staff at Mortlach Primary School, further strengthening links within our wider school community. ππΈπ§
We have some very talented people within our Cabin family. One of our Cabin parents kindly made us this amazing new train that sits at the front of The Cabin. The children get lots of enjoyment from this during wheeled toys sessions and also when waiting to enter The Cabin in the morning. We love it and we are so grateful to the parent who made this for us π
This term marked the return of our weekly swimming sessions, which are always a huge success with the children. We feel very lucky to be able to offer them this opportunity. The swimming sessions ran over six weeks and this term we also included visits to Aberlour Nursery. It was wonderful to see the children building friendships and interacting confidently with children from another setting. They represented our nursery well during these visits and thoroughly enjoyed sharing snack time together. π
We then invited Aberlour Nursery to visit us and share a session together. The children had a fantastic time taking part in a wheeled toys session. We finished off our session with a picnic lunch, which everyone really enjoyed.π«π²
We held our annual Sports Day and what a fantastic afternoon it was, everyone took part and demonstrated excellent responsibility. A huge thank you to all our families who came along to cheer us on. We also loved seeing so many parents joining in the parents race, it really was the best afternoon π πββ‘οΈπββοΈββ‘οΈπ
We were also delighted to be invited to join Mortlach Primary School in their sports day. The children represented The Cabin wonderfully, showing great respect! They took part in all the races and had an amazing time. A huge thank you to Mortlach Primary School for welcoming us and allowing us to share in such a fantastic day. We really enjoyed being part of it.π

We decided to hop on the local service bus to Aberlour to check out their new playpark and it was fantastic! We started our adventure with snack at the Aberlour Tea Rooms before heading to the park.
What an incredible playpark it is!. The children had a great time, and so did the adults π Even the rain couldn't dampen the spirits. We had such a great time. πππ
We are so lucky to have such an amazing committee. They treated all of our children and staff to a delicious ice cream from the visiting ice cream van and it certainly brought lots of smiles to everyone's day π
A huge thank you to our wonderful committee π₯° π¦
Our final Woodland Wednesday session of this school year saw all of the children visit our outdoor classroom up at Megs Widd. It was a wonderful way to celebrate a fantastic year of outdoor learning and adventure. πͺ΅π³
We were delighted to be joined by Melissa Irvine Photography, who captured beautiful photographs of the children as they enjoyed one of their favourite places. π·
π€ We had the most wonderful time celebrating graduation with our Oak families. What a beautiful day it was!
The last few days have been filled with so many emotions as we prepare to say goodbye to our Oaks. We are so incredibly proud of each and every one of them and all they have achieved during their time with us at The Cabin.π
While we will miss them so much, we know they are more than ready for this exciting new chapter at school. We wish them all the happiness, confidence, and success as they begin their new adventures.
