So incredibly proud of one of my previous students! What a superstar 🤩⭐️
We are beyond excited to announce that Shaan in Year 6 has been offered a prestigious Winston Churchill Scholarship to attend Harrow School!
He will remain at Hydesville Senior School as an Academic Scholar until Year 9 and then will attend the world-renowned private school in Middlesex.
Mrs Samra, Headteacher at Hydesville, said: “I would like to say how very proud I am of Shaan and his achievement in gaining the Scholarship. This is a testament to all Shaan’s hard work and support he has received from his teachers. He is determined young man and an exceptional role model for his peers.”

A nice little fine motor Christmas themed activity this Monday afternoon. We had lots of fun sticking ‘baubles’ on the tree!

Post-it notes are a great teaching resource. I use them a lot! Here I used them in a KS2 SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) lesson!

And a small selection of work from my KS2 lovelies over the last couple of weeks.
- Apostrophes for possession
- Using conjunctions
- Place value
- Fractions inside a ‘Halloween Mystery’
- Sorting nouns, adjectives and verbs with a Halloween theme.
- Multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 to identify the mystery Halloween words!
So incredibly proud of my students who have worked incredibly hard over the last half term and made huge leaps forward 🥰

Just a small selection of the Halloween-y activities that my students have been working on over the last couple of weeks in EYFS and KS1 (years 1&2):
- Counting the Halloween items and then identifying one more and less.
- Identifying which bubbles from the cauldron were odd or even after learning how to count in 2s to check.
- Counting in 10s to make the secret ghost picture.
- Halloween place value - identifying which number the dienes were representing and matching it to the correct pumpkin.
- And my favourite activity - the Halloween Scavenger Hunt. I hid pictures all around people’s dining rooms for their children to find. On the pictures were 2-digit numbers that the child had to identify! We had lots of fun with this!
