We provide before and after school care for the children of Netherbrook Primary.

This term our topic has been winter. We have
❄️ we enjoyed playing out in the snow and working together to create a snowman
🧊 we created igloos using cotton wool and using Lego bricks to make some igloo prints
🧣we talked about the different clothes we wear in winter
🐻‍❄️we used paper cups to create polar bears
We have also celebrated Chinese new by creating Chinese lanterns, writing Chinese numbers in rice and creating hats.
We celebrated valentines by exploring a valentines sensory tray, creating cards and making rose prints.

⚠️ URGENT RECALL: Hobbycraft Giant Box of Craft

Hobbycraft is recalling a box of mixed craft supplies containing vials of coloured sand due to a potential health risk.

The sand may be contaminated with a small amount of asbestos, which can be harmful even at low levels of exposure.

📋 Product number: 6686021000

Full disposal instructions from Hobbycraft:

•Stop using the product immediately.

•If the sand is still in its packaging, place in a heavy-duty plastic bag, double tape it securely, label it clearly and store in a secure location out of the reach of children.

•If the sand has been used, clean up sites where the product was used using wet cloths to avoid generating dust. Wear gloves and a mask.

•Double bag the sand, gloves, mask and cloths.

•Keep children and other people away from areas where the sand has been used until the area has been cleaned.

•Return the sand vials from the product to your nearest Hobbycraft store for a full refund.

•If you are unable to get to a Hobbycraft store, please follow the instructions above and dispose of the sand in your general household waste.

•Contact Hobbycraft for a full refund.

The children at Netherbrook have loved celebrating all of the different festivals this term. They have danced with Pudsey bear, created poppies for Remembrance Day, made a thanksgiving tree, made christingles for advent, made Yule logs for Yule and a range of Christmas activities. When we return on Tuesday the 6th of January 2026 we will begin our winter topic as well as more celebrations. We would like to take this opportunity to with you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year xx

Welcome back. We hope you all had a fab half term. From now till CHRISTMAS our topic is “celebrations”. The children will be taking part in loads of games and activities focusing on;
- bonfire night
- remembrance
-children in need
-Thanksgiving
- Hanukkah
- Christmas
We break up for Christmas on Friday the 19th. Children return on Tuesday the 6th of January x

The last two weeks we have enjoyed commemorating VE Day with a range of activities such as: creating a red and blue hand print tablecloth, creating a ve sign, exploring the red, white and blue Lego and enjoying our little ve playground party with a range of old school favourite games such as tin can ally and dominoes and creating bunting. 🇬🇧 💂🏼‍♀️🪖

🐛 explored the hungry caterpillar sensory tray
🐘 created colourful Elmer pictures using paint and a squeegee
📕 used a range of materials to create our own book covers
🪄explores the magical Harry Potter sensory tray
🐻 and also the we’re going on a bear hunt tray

week 2 our topic has been the moon we have:
🌙 created paper plate moons
🖊️ practiced writing words in moon dust
🌚 used tin foil to create a moon and add craters
🚙 designed our own moon buggy’s
💫 enjoyed making stories with the space themed toys
🌝 created moons using playdough
