I'm a customer of BW Tax with Ahmad Qayyum as my accountant. He's a customer focused and very approachable accountant who we're luck enough to have had him recommended to us. Its getting to that time of year when the tenant calls up saying the heatings gone off and the boilers making a sound like a boiling kettle.
The kettle noise could be due to an outlet pipe being frozen up (condensate pipe). Have a look and see if there is a thin plastic pipe coming from the boiler and going outside. If its freezing pour some boiling water over it to thaw it and then insulate the pipe.
If you are having a new boiler fitted into a new build make sure the plumber runs all the pipework inside the property. If it runs outside make sure its at least 40 mm diameter and keep the pipe ruin less than 1.5 m otherwise it will freeze up on a cold winters day. You will then avoid getting the dreaded tenant call.
