Many colleagues will be aware of the serious fire affecting our local community in Stourbridge.

We know that a significant number of Dudley Academies Trust employees live in and around the area affected, and we are also conscious that families from Greenfield Primary School are likely to be amongst those affected by, or living very close to, the incident.

Some colleagues may live close to the affected area, may know people who have been directly impacted, or may have friends, relatives or members of their wider community who are now facing an incredibly difficult and distressing time.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected, their families and the wider community.

📣 Important update about Free School Meals‼️

From September 2026, Free School Meal eligibility is changing and more families may now qualify, including families receiving Universal Credit. We are asking all parents and carers to complete the application, even if you do not think you are currently eligible, or your child already receives Free School Meals.

This is really important because current Free School Meal entitlement and protections may end at the end of this academic year. This means that even if your child currently gets Free School Meals, you still need to apply through the new system so their eligibility can be checked under the new arrangements.

Once you have applied, the system will regularly check for any changes in your circumstances. If your child becomes eligible in future, the school will be notified automatically, so your child does not miss out on support.

Applying only takes a few minutes and could provide:
✅ Free, healthy school meals
✅ Support for your child and family
✅ Extra funding for your child’s school
✅ Automatic ongoing eligibility checks
🗓 Existing Free School Meal protection arrangements will end on 31 July 2026, so please do not delay.

📢 Exciting News from Dudley Academies Trust! We are thrilled to announce a £38,000 investment in uniforms to support our learners and their families for September 2025. This marks the sixth year of support for secondary schools and the second year for primary schools! 💙👏

✅ New cardigan or jumper for all Reception children
✅ New blazer and tie for all Year 7 learners
✅ Free tie for all Year 11 learners
✅ Free tie for Student Leaders

Introducing our Innovation Exchange Centre 🎉

One of the highlights of the Dudley Academies Trust Conference was the unveiling of the Trust’s new Innovation Exchange Centre, located at the heart of the Millennium Point building. ✨

This state-of-the-art facility is designed to foster creativity and collaboration among learners and staff, providing a hub for developing cutting-edge educational methods and technologies. The new centre will provide an incredible opportunity to provide learners of all ages with innovative, high quality learning experiences and to significantly enhance leadership and staff development programmes. 🌟
