On Tuesday, our wonderful Year 4 children performed our first ever Clarinet concert! They have been having lessons all year from Mrs Kennedy from the DPA. They performed 5 different songs using a variety of notes and we even had four children perform solos! Well done to everyone who performed!

Thinking about booking a holiday during term time?
Please remember that any absence must be requested in advance.
Holidays or activities that can be taken during the 13 weeks of school holidays will not be authorised during term time.
If a child has 5 days (10 sessions) or more of unauthorised absence within a 10‑week period, a penalty notice may be issued.
Penalty notices apply per parent, per child:
• First offence – £160 (reduced to £80 if paid within 21 days)
• Second offence – £160 with no reduced rate
• Third offence – the case may be taken to Magistrates’ Court, where fines or further action can be issued
Every day in school matters – attendance is the foundation for learning, progress and wellbeing.

Dear Parents and Carers,
As you will be aware, very high temperatures are forecast over the coming days. We are making some temporary adjustments to ensure that all pupils remain safe, comfortable and able to learn effectively.
These changes are in line with national guidance for schools during periods of extreme heat.
Uniform
For the duration of the hot weather:
• Full school uniform including jumpers is not required
• Pupils may wear light, loose-fitting clothing suitable for school
• Where appropriate, pupils may wear PE kit
• Sensible footwear should still be worn
• We encourage pupils to bring a hat and apply sunscreen before school
Our priority is that pupils are comfortable; there is no expectation for families to purchase additional items.
During the School Day
We will be taking a number of steps to keep classrooms as cool as possible, including increased ventilation and reducing heat from equipment where we can.
Pupils will be:
• Encouraged to drink water regularly throughout the day
• Reminded to take regular breaks and to tell a member of staff if they feel unwell or too hot
• Supported to stay cool within classrooms
Please ensure your child brings a clearly labelled water bottle each day.
Breaktimes, Lunchtimes and Physical Activity
We will also be adapting our routines:
• Pupils will be encouraged to remain in shaded areas when outside
• Outdoor time may be adjusted or shortened where necessary
• Strenuous physical activity, including PE, will be reduced or adapted
Our Priority
Children are more vulnerable to the effects of heat, and these measures are in place to safeguard their health and wellbeing.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and make further adjustments if required.
Thank you for your continued support.

📢 Have You Applied for Income-Based Free School Meals? 📢
Did you know that even if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 and already receives Universal Free School Meals, it is still important to apply for income-based Free School Meals if you are eligible?
Registering for income-based Free School Meals helps the school receive additional government funding through the Pupil Premium. This funding is used to provide extra support, resources, enrichment opportunities and interventions that help children achieve their best.
Your child will continue to receive their free school meal regardless, but by applying you could help secure valuable funding that directly benefits pupils across our school.
If you think you may be eligible, please take a few minutes to check and apply. Every successful application helps us provide even more opportunities and support for our children.
If you would like help with the application process, please contact the school office.
Thank you for your support.

Woodside Residential Family:
Thank you for trusting us with your VIPs — we’ve had the best time with them (and we’re only slightly more tired because of it 😅).
They’ve been an absolute credit to you and to our Woodside family. Truly brilliant young people — resilient, kind, and full of energy.
And persistent… wow, yes — very persistent 🤦🏻♂️🤣 (we’ll all sleep well now camp is over!).
They’ve made us laugh, kept us on our toes, and honestly just been fantastic to have around 👌🏻
We’re really proud of everything they’ve achieved and the way they’ve thrown themselves into camp life and thrived🥰💜💙
So from all of us — thank you again. You’ve got the BEST amazing mini humans there! 🌟
