Last term, our local community police officer, David Charnley met with us to discuss E-SCOOTERS, E-BIKES and other motorised machines like hoverboards.

He wanted to communicate some key messages from Police Scotland, with the wider community.

Did you know?

* All e-scooters and e-bikes with the capability to go over 15mph are illegal anywhere public like roads, pavements, schools and in parks unless the driver has a driver’s licence, insurance, paid road tax and is wearing a helmet. This is the case even if the bike/scooter is not driven at that speed.

* These same rules also apply to hoverboards, e-go-karts and mini-motorbikes.

* PC Charnley talked about penalties, advising that if children are caught and fined, parents would be liable for the points given, but they go on the PARENT'S driving licence. Fines and points are allocated just like driving penalties, based on speed and other criteria.

* The police will remove e-scooters if there are concerns for safety and wellbeing.

* The NHS have also experienced a sharp rise in caring for children with nasty injuries from coming off e-scooters.

We were very grateful to have this time with PC Charnley and thank him for educating us about the use of e-scooters and e-bikes.

Today we were learning about camouflage! We looked at pictures and talked about how camouflage in nature is useful.
We then created our own unique camouflage designs on paper butterflies, designing them to blend into a space in the woods. As a class we were tasked with spotting each other’s butterfly 🦋 some being very well hidden. Can you find them?
Answers will be on J2E.

Market Day will take place on Tuesday 30th June at 1:30pm till 2:30pm and we hope to run it in the playground.

The children have been working hard to design a product for sale this term. Through this work they have:

Learned about market research to improve an initial concept.

Designed creative logos the sell their product and improved them with further market research.

Used persuasive language to produce an advert and billboard.

Test produced their product and sampled it.

We are now ready to bring their hard work to market, and we hope the children and community will join us to give us good sales. Will they make a profit or a loss - you will decide!

🐮 🐷 🐐 THE ROYAL HIGHLAND SHOW

We cannot thank East Coast Viners Grain for giving all the children another amazing day to remember.
The rain was no match for our high spirits today. The photos say it all.

Full bellies, full hearts, tired legs, sleepy heads.
