Strong GCSE Results Continue Success Story at Droylsden Academy

Students and staff at Droylsden Academy are today celebrating another exceptional set of GCSE results, continuing the strong trend of academic success that has seen the school recognised nationally by the Secretary of State for its outcomes.
The Class of 2026 have achieved an impressive set of results across a range of subjects, building on the academy's years of sustained improvement and excellence. The results reflect the dedication, resilience, and hard work shown by students throughout their time at the school, as well as the relentless commitment of staff to ensuring every student achieves their full potential.
Strong performances were seen across the curriculum, with students achieving highly in both core and foundation subjects. These outcomes further reinforce Droylsden Academy's reputation in the local community and beyond.
Headteacher Mr Mayell praised students and staff for their accomplishments:
"I am incredibly proud of the achievements of our students. These results are a reflection of the hard work, determination, and commitment shown by the Class of 2026 throughout their time at Droylsden Academy.
They also demonstrate the power of our culture of 'Be Here to Belong'. We believe that when students feel a sense of belonging, are supported to succeed, and are challenged by high expectations, they can achieve remarkable things. Today's results are yet another example of that philosophy in action.
Our students leave us not only with excellent qualifications but also with the confidence, character, and ambition to thrive in the next stage of their education and beyond. We are enormously proud of them and look forward to seeing all they achieve in the future."
The academy would like to extend its sincere thanks to parents, carers, governors, and the wider community for their continued support. Their partnership with the school has played a vital role in helping students reach this important milestone.
As students prepare to move on to sixth form, college courses, apprenticeships, and a range of further education opportunities, the school wishes them every success for the future.Congratulations to the Class of 2026.

It was a bittersweet evening as we finally said goodbye to the Class of 2026 at their Year 11 Prom.

The night was a wonderful celebration of the friendships and memories made over the last five years. Students enjoyed a delicious meal before taking to the dance floor, where there was plenty of music, dancing and laughter throughout the evening. It was a fitting way to mark the end of their time at Droylsden Academy and to celebrate everything they have achieved.

All students have been invited to complete this survey by the children's commissioner. Please click on the link to take part:
http://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/thebigfuture.
The survey is designed to allow students to give their views and opinions to find out what it's like to be a child today. To have their say about the changes they want to see in their community, concerns and hopes for the future. In their opinion, what does good childhood look like?

At a time of significant change for children and young people, it is more important than ever that children's views are reflected in policy making. Through this survey, the children's commissioner can take their voice directly to the centre of government.

A reminder to all students to complete the survey. Check emails or click on the link above.

Hayley M - Year 10

I received a golden ticket from my English teacher. He said that I had written an excellent paragraph and made an excellent effort to demonstrate the skills needed to achieve the higher marks. I felt great about receiving the golden ticket. It made me feel so happy and proud of myself. There are such a good range of prizes on offer. It suits everyone and anyone can achieve something. Friday Pride Day is a great celebration as it gives people the chance to embrace their achievements and celebrate. I look forward to it.
