GCSE CELEBRATIONS

Delight at Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School when students opened envelopes containing their GCSE examination results.

Acting Headteacher, Trudie Davies, said: “I am delighted for students and staff who have achieved these results particularly when they have had to deal with so many challenges during the course of their GCSE studies. They responded magnificently and their commitment and dedication has paid off. I would also like to thank our parents and carers for their support for our students and our school. Our very best wishes to all as they move on to the next stage of their careers.”

WELL DONE A LEVEL STUDENTS!

Students across the country have collected their A-Level examination results this morning and there have once again been many celebrations by students and staff at Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School.

Headteacher, Martyn Cooper, said: “I’m delighted for students and their families. It is a joy to see young people realising their dreams, making phone calls to family members and planning the next steps of their journey. It shows that DHFS students work hard and make excellent progress regardless of their starting point, a trend that we are proud to see year in, year out at DHFS. This is also testament to the subject knowledge, skill and personalised input from our staff. On behalf of the DHFS community I would like to thank them for their commitment to our students and school.”

Marc Howell, Director of Sixth Form, said: “Our students and staff have worked incredibly hard this year and fully deserve these brilliant individual outcomes, we have seen many students successfully taking up places at competitive institutions and destinations and a number moving on to high/degree level apprenticeships. With the vast majority of students gaining a place at university and an increasing number of students obtaining competitive apprenticeship placements, we are proud to see our students moving on to such exciting next steps. Well done to our Class of 2026, we are incredibly proud of you all.”

BOWSHAW FESTIVAL SUCCESS
Thousands attended the 2026 Bowshaw Festival, this year sponsored by Heron Publications. With glorious sunshine, the event provided fun, games, entertainment and fabulous food and drink for people of all ages. Helen and Olivia Firth from Heron Publications handed out rosettes to champion stallholders and Olivia also judged the show's fun dog show. More pictures in next month's magazine.
