Earlier on today, we finally got some rain! 🌧️ 🌦️

After weeks of dry weather, typical the rain arrives just we're out on foot patrol! πŸ˜‚

Your Safer Neighbourhood Team were out and about in Droitwich Town Centre, Vines Lane and the Retail Park. We spoke with local businesses, members of the public and residents and keeping an eye what's happening in our community.

The weather might not be perfect, but that doesn't stop us getting out and about. 🌧️ 🚢

E-Scooters: Understanding the Risks and the Law

πŸ›΄ We are aware that there are differing opinions regarding electric scooters. However, under current legislation, privately owned e-scooters cannot be ridden on roads, pavements, cycle paths, parks, or other public places. They may only be used on private land with the permission of the landowner.

πŸ›΄ We have recently seen an increase in reports of anti-social behaviour involving e-scooters and would like to remind residents of the law.

πŸ›΄ If you are considering purchasing an e-scooter as a gift, please ensure you have a suitable and lawful location for it to be used.

πŸ›΄ Failure to comply with the legislation could result in enforcement action, including seizure of the scooter, fines, and penalty points. πŸš“

πŸ›΄ E-scooters can cause serious injury to riders and pedestrians, particularly when ridden at speed, on pavements, or in busy public areas. We have also received reports of anti-social and reckless riding, which can cause alarm and distress within our communities.

πŸ›΄ Please feel free to contact the Safer Neighbourhood Team team if you are having any issues or information with illegal scooters or bikes.

πŸ›΄ For more information on the laws relating to electric scooters and e-bikes, please visit the https://orlo.uk/f3Aa7 website.

🧹 Keeping Westlands Looking Its Best

Following concerns about graffiti on a public building in the Westlands area, local officers attended and worked to remove it ahead of the community Family Fun Day.

By working together with our residents and partners, we can help keep the Westlands a clean, welcoming, and enjoyable place to live for everyone.

Thank you to those who continue to report issues and support their local community. πŸ’™
