We have so many children who speak different languages. It's lovely to hear and share words from different cultures and countries and even dialects from around the UK.

Does your little one aged 3 to 6 speak more than one language at home? If so, we'd love to learn from them! We'd like for you to film a video of your child teaching us something short and simple in one of the languages they speak.

Applications for school places in Worcestershire for September 2027 are now open.

Parents and carers should apply if their child is due to start school for the first time, or is transferring to a Middle or High School, in September 2027. The deadline for High School applications is 31 October 2026, while the deadline for Primary, First, Infant, Junior and Middle School applications is 15 January 2027.

When making your three preferences, we strong encourage you include your catchment school as one of your choices. This helps ensure you have the best chance of securing a place at a local school if you are not offered one of your other preferred schools.

Guidance on starting school and moving on to the next stage of education is available at www.worcestershire.gov.uk/schooladmissions.

September 1st 2026 is World Letter Writing Day!

To celebrate letter writing, here are a selection of wonderful letter-writing books that you may wish to enjoy reading with your children and a list of some helpful websites that we hope will inspire the children to explore letter writing further and even write some letters of their own.
This could perhaps be a few kind words to a friend or family member or to someone in the community that may not receive mail.
So grab your pen or pencil and give someone the joy of receiving a handwritten letter.
