Kids First LTD are currently looking for a quality Play Worker to join us in providing high quality, fun and safe before & after school care for children attending Chawson First School, Tibberton CofE First School and the surrounding Middle Schools.

Kids First LTD Play Workers will be trust worthy, reliable, enthusiastic, full of energy, enjoy working with children and be a real team player. Previous play work experience is desirable but not essential but a willingness to learn and using your initiative is a must!!

Kids First LTD offer a great working environment, ongoing training and good career prospects.

Please note that applicants will also be subjected to a DBS and references check.

Job Type: Part-time- Monday-Friday 2.45pm-6pm Term time only. Depending on the needs of the business.

Setting number 2 complete 🌟

Today, myself and Liv built new furniture and completely rearranged and sorted the existing resources whilst adding in lots of new ones at Kids F1rst-Chawson.

Our storage space at Kids F1rst-Chawson is much smaller than at Kids F1rst- Tibberton so we have to utilise the space more effectively and make each centimetre count. 📏

Now the resources are SO much more accessible and organised 😃🌈

Here at Kids F1rst, as well as providing the children with a nurturing, home from home environment we also encourage independence, responsibility and kindness towards other children.

Because of this, we have created something called a ‘Junior Playworker’.

At each setting, every day, we choose one of the children to be a Junior Playworker for that session. The children then ‘sign’ a code of conduct which outlines their ‘duties and responsibilities’ as part of their role. This includes things such as helping with the washing up, assisting the children with anything they may need, helping with snack time etc.

The children absolutely love this as they feel super important, they love wearing their lanyard and they thrive off having the extra responsibilities.

This also promotes all aspects of British Values as well as giving the children an opportunity to grow in confidence and independence 🇬🇧

I’m also late posting these but I just want to show thanks and appreciation to our wonderful ‘Employee’s of the Month’- Jo for November and Claire for December.

Both of these ladies work incredibly hard to ensure your children receive the best care, attention and play opportunities when they are with us. The children all love them and so do the staff and I couldn’t be more grateful for their support 🌈

I also want to make a special mention to 6 of our lovely children at Chawson who, last Friday, decided to use their own imagination’s and ideas to create a pond out of a tuff tray and lots of various resources and loose parts using different textures, colours and water animals.

They came up with the idea themselves, found all of the resources they wanted to use and made a beautiful creation which they (and we) were so proud of 🥰

The girls also enjoyed playing with our loose parts by sorting them by colour, size, type etc.

It was so wonderful to see them using their own ideas and imaginations without any adult input whilst building their confidence and knowledge- little Freddie even found a book about life cycles of animals and made his own life cycle of a frog 🐸 🌈

At both settings of Kids F1rst, we always involve the children in our activity planning. We recognise that Child Led play is the BEST play for your children’s development and we actively work to ensure that the children are involved in all that we do!

To show you one of the ways we achieve this I have taken photos of our planning board which is completed at the end of the week, for the following week’s activity ideas, with the help of the children 👦🏻 👧🏼

Then I have included photos of what we got up to based on the children’s ideas 💡
