As we get ready for the new term in September, a lot of spaces have already been booked!
There are now 2 slots available for the group scenario on Thursday for Maths (Y5/6) level, 6pm, so do hurry!

I am proud to say, One-To-One slots could actually be full for the first time in my business history - dependent on if a couple of parents choose to continue in September when their child enters Year 7. I have set up a waiting list in preparation for this, so please do get in touch. :)

The last two are challenging - not impossible - for online education. I love this challenge and do my best to overcome it, despite not being face-to-face!
Repetition is key, though making repetition interactive and fun is a challenge we share as educators and parents. :)

I hope that for all of you - and especially those parents who have taken on my services at PTO many moons ago - that your children have done well with their GCSE results day and got what they wanted.

On reflection, I knew once I had my GCSE results that this paved the way for the A-Levels - a very difficult challenge!
I wonder what your learner plans are going forwards with their GCSEs?

Driffield & District Business Club took us on a social to the Wold Top Brewery.

What a fantastic story of resilience and adaptation in hard times by the farmers! It was so interesting learning about the scientific processes involved - I am glad that our tour guide kept it in Lehman's terms!

Would love a visit to a whiskey brewery in Filey. Maybe one to do myself as not a lot of whiskey lovers!

An enjoyable evening and delicious pie to end the tour. I highly recommend a visit to The Wold Top Brewery.

Functional Skills Level 2 is coming along. I now dip into data handling for my 15 year old student this coming Thursday!
She's doing so well with some of the material before her and will need a calculator for some practise questions.

(Now, where did I put my calculator!?)

Yes, a nice coffee table is something to marvel at in your break time, but Times Tables are very important! Some of my children know when I tell the story about how I spoke to a Secondary Teacher asking him what it was that children in Year 7 onwards needed to know most.
His response? "Get their Times Tables secured. Without them, they can't do much else."

Here are just a handful of reasons why Multiplication and knowing them are so important:

Two weeks in and I've loved every second of spending holiday time with my special people. The holiday "over t'bridge" was fantastic, I've caught up with some friends over a nice meal, played a couple of games of football midweek (I AM being careful!) and even managed a little fun football tournament in goal.
Here's to the next four weeks of more memories, chilling and fun, in between a bit of working here and there!

Don't forget to watch a bit of the recorded live if you can and to get in touch if you would like to work with me to boost your child's confidence in Maths. :)
