This week we have discovered a new park and practised our gross motor skills. Made new friendships as a new little sunbeam settles in. Practised our fine motor skills with threading and using tongs to pick mini beasts up. We finished the week with a mini beast hunt! ☀️🛝🪱🐞🕷️🐜🐛

We have loved the better weather over the last couple of weeks. The children love birds at the minute so following their interests we decided to have a day at Tophill Low last week - always a firm favourite. We then visited Sledmere to have fun at the new park and to see the animals and we finished this week with a trip to the park before we enjoyed the garden and our new planters. ☀️🛝🦆🌼

Had a gorgeous day at Burton Agnes Hall yesterday with the Little Sunbeams. We loved the park and the open spaces. 💖🛝☀️

We have loved the sunshine this week! Playing outside in the fresh air, exploring nature and having days out is very important to me and while we are out every day, the sunshine makes it even better! 👌🏻

A few from last week and this week. We are focusing on books, stories and nursery rhymes and are following the children’s interests. My children love ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and ‘Peppa Pig’ at the moment. We also enjoyed ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ this week.

I spend a lot of time talking to the children about their families and we love sharing pictures. This week we have spent time talking about our mummy with Mother’s Day approaching. I love seeing what other childminders and pre schools do and the beautiful pictures/ cards created but you won’t find that at Little Sunbeams. I don’t do cards unless the children ask and I won’t ask them to do one as I have been that teacher with 30 children getting them to do the same card and it is not something I want to do.

I would like to wish the mums that have entrusted me to look after their baby, the most fabulous Mother’s Day. x

A little last minute fine motor and STEM activity I set up this week. We have been enjoying colours and love using scoops and tongs to pick up different things to fill bowls then we like to pour. We are strengthening our fingers and exploring different sizes and capacity. ☀️🌈
