We would like to thank Libraries in Lisburn and Castlereagh for inviting us to Lisburn City Library to chat to families who are living with children who have additional needs.

We met a lovely group of parents and we were able to offer some helpful information and practical tips to help them with life at home 🏠

We would like to invite you to join us at our next session in December as we explore what can help support play at home🧸🤾‍♀️

🙂Making home life a little easier🙂

This is an after school schedule and choice board we made for a 7yr old who is in a mainstream primary class.

They found it difficult to settle at home after school and just wanted to do their choices which was tricky for parents who were trying to get homework and dinner sorted. 🏠

This schedule helped them understand expectations and it gave parents flexibility in deciding the routine at home but also included their child's preferences😃

Often children need decompression time when they get home after school so a choice board of available options can help support them to choose prefered activities within your allowed options🧸
