Tuesday evening was the last Annual Prize Giving Ceremony to be held on the premises of De La Salle High School. Mr Cherry welcomed school governors, pupils and parents to the event. Mr Cherry acknowledged the hard work of the class of 2023/24 at both GCSE and GCE level, achieving results that have exceeded expected targets. The school has seen a steady increase of GCSE/GCE results since the appointment of principal, some seven years ago. In 2017 5+ GCSE A* - C was at 52.5%, this year 2024, 87% of pupils achieved 5+ A* - C grades.

Mr Maguire thanked all those present and paid tribute to his Governors and staff for supporting him during his time as principal, in ensuring that De La Salle pupils had access to quality learning and teaching with outcomes that will change lives.

At the end of June we said an emotional goodbye to five of our amazing canteen staff who have retired after outstanding long years of service to our boys at De La Salle. We will miss you all and wish you all the best in your retirement, Anna, Bronagh, Clare, Brenda and Stephaine.

A wonderful morning on Thursday for the staff of De La Salle as they give out GCSE results. A lot of happy and relieved faces. Congratulations to all our young men who have shown tremendous resilience in getting across the line. Our students this morning have received outstanding and rewarding results, many will now continue their journey in education with enrolment to Lecale Trinity Grammar Post 16 Provision.

As we bring down the curtain on De La Salle High School, our A Level results for 2024 have once again shown how successful our school has been in ensuring that all its pupils leave with the grades that they deserve. Pupils this year have achieved amazing results, that will now allow them to proceed on to university, 3rd level apprenticeships and the world of work. ‘This cohort of young men have worked extremely hard with staff, who were committed to getting the very best from them. Neither pupil nor staff have disappointed. As principal I am very proud of them both (pupils and staff), overcoming barriers to get the very best.



A special thanks to parents, for their support over the last seven years. The importance of a strong relationship with home and school, has ensured that these young men have achieved.

Congratulations to our budding photographers at De La Salle! Our recent Shared Education competition showcased the beauty of Northern Ireland. The winning photo was truly breathtaking.

We were so impressed by the creativity and talents of all entries, and it was wonderful to see the diverse ways in which our pupils appreciate the beauty of our landscape. Congratulations to our winner, Ryan Sharvin P10 and runners up, Cormac Wylie P8, Tomas Conway B9, Nathan Cusack C11 and Liam Fitzsimons P11and thank you to all the pupils who entered this competition.
