Heart Attack vs Cardiac Arrest

Most people think these are the same thing.

They are not.

A heart attack is a circulation problem.

A cardiac arrest is an electrical problem.

In cardiac arrest the heart goes into a rhythm called Ventricular Fibrillation (VF) and stops pumping blood effectively to the Brain and other vital organs around our body.

Without CPR and defibrillation, survival drops by 10% every minute.

This is why:

• Early recognition
• Early CPR
• Early defibrillation

save lives.

The difference between life and death can be the people standing nearby.
