Your VHF radio could be one of the most important pieces of safety equipment on your boat.

Knowing how and when to use it could make all the difference when you need help at sea.

Get your RYA Short Range Certificate (SRC) with Cinque Ports Sailing
The SRC Marine Radio (VHF) course is available online, so you can study at your own pace, wherever you are.

✅ Around 10 hours of online learning
✅ Study at your own pace
✅ Instructor support available
✅ RYA VHF Handbook included
✅ In-person RYA assessment at Dover Sea Sports Centre
✅ Suitable for sailors and powerboaters
✅ Minimum age 16

📝 RYA examination fee: £76 (2026)

Once you've completed the online training, you'll complete your practical and theory assessment in Dover using real marine VHF equipment.
