Science in woodpeckers class 🔬

In our science topic this term we have been learning about growing things. We have been enjoying thinking like scientists addressing a different question each week and carrying out our own observations. Today we explored the question ‘Are all tree trunks the same?’, we investigated this using string to measure the thickness of different tree trunks and we carried out bark rubbing to compare trunks textures.

Welcome to our littlest woodpeckers!
We have had so much fun at our transition days this week, our established woodpeckers welcomed our new friends with open arms and showed how caring and responsible they can be.
Our new woodpeckers showed so much bravery and enthusiasm jumping straight in to their first big school.
We have drawn our families, chosen our classroom rules, talked all about ourselves and played lots of getting to know you games. We loved getting the rainbow parachute out this afternoon and we now can’t wait for September. Well done Woodpecker 🫶🏻👏🏻
