It's been great to see STRIVE fully launch this term, and with such enthusiasm from pupils and staff alike.

STRIVE (Service, Teamwork, Responsibility, Initiative, Vision and Excellence) maps the qualities our pupils develop through their clubs, teams and activities. As they progress through the College, it helps them understand where they're thriving and where their personal development should focus next.

This isn't something we set up once and forget. STRIVE moves with each pupil, year by year, so their co-curricular life builds a real sense of purpose and a place where they belong.

This morning, the children in Reception enjoyed a lovely learning walk around the close. We explored our surroundings and looked carefully for signs that autumn is here.

The children spotted lots of crunchy leaves, conkers and other autumn treasures along the way. We had lots of fun talking about the changes we could see, hear and feel as we explored the season together!

Our Sixth Form girls have been spending time volunteering in the Nursery, getting involved in activities and enjoying plenty of time with our youngest pupils.

The volunteering scheme is a fantastic way to build a bridge between the most senior members of Dover College and our youngest members. It not only provides our students with valuable transferable skills but integrates them into the wider school community.

Our Sixth Form enjoyed their time volunteering and our Nursery children have some extra helping hands to play and learn with! We’re always proud to see our pupils supporting each other across the College.

Our U18 hockey team enjoyed a great afternoon at Bethany last week, taking on three teams from their squad in a series of 7-a-side matches.

With the sun shining, there was some excellent hockey on display, plenty of goals and a really competitive afternoon of play. The final score was a 5–5 draw!

Last Friday, pupils were enjoying our new Tinker Lab, led by Old Dovorian Simon Tse.

They were having lots of fun getting hands-on with engineering and learning how things work. There was plenty of curiosity and enthusiasm in the room, and the robot dog was definitely a favourite!

It’s great to see pupils enjoying practical learning and having the chance to explore engineering in such a fun and engaging way.

A huge well done to Edith (Shell) and Stanley (3rd Form), who represented Dover at the Kent Relay Finals on Saturday 12 September at the London Aquatics Centre – the iconic Olympic Pool!

Competing against 19 teams, both swimmers took part in three events across the Freestyle and Medley races.

🥇 Edith swam the final freestyle leg of the U11 Mixed Medley team, helping them to a fantastic Kent Championship title!

🥉 Stanley swam the final freestyle leg for the U13 Mixed Medley team, who secured a Bronze medal!

Our Senior School pupils have continued to enjoy our structured sailing programme this year, delivered in partnership with Cinque Port Sailing and made possible through the generous continued support of the Old Dovorians.

Today it was our U15s’ turn to take to the water. For many of the pupils, it was their first time sailing, so there were a few nerves to begin with. But by the end of the session, those nerves had turned into plenty of smiles and some great memories.
