The clouds finally cleared on Friday after a particularly damp week, providing the perfect opportunity for our Prep School Sports Day. Always a highlight of the Prep School calendar, and this year's event certainly did not disappoint.

Fantastic team spirit, determination, and individual success was on display throughout the day. Pupils gave their all in every event, supporting one another and embracing the friendly competition that makes Sports Day such a special occasion.

A huge congratulations to Neville House, who were crowned overall champions at the end of a memorable day. However, the real success of the event was the enthusiasm, teamwork, and positivity shown by every pupil throughout the competition.

Thank you to our grounds staff, parents, pupils, and teachers for helping to make the day such a tremendous success. Your support, encouragement, and hard work ensured a fantastic experience for all involved.

At Dover College, we have always believed that education extends far beyond the classroom. The confidence, resilience and sense of responsibility gained from learning in the natural world are qualities that stay with young people long after they leave school, not to mention the mental and physical health benefits of time well spent outdoors.

Our ongoing partnership with Hope Farm, near Dover, will bring the Hope Curriculum pupils from year 6 to year 8 every week, starting this September. This unique opportunity allows students to learn in a real working farm environment, developing practical skills and forming a genuine connection with the land.

This is education as it should be. Rooted, rounded and full of life.

Huge congratulations to five fabulous Dover College pupils whose poetry has been selected for publication in the Young Writers 2026 anthology.

Having work published is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the creativity, imagination and dedication of our young writers. We are especially proud that this continues a long-standing Dover College tradition, with pupils earning publication year after year.

A wonderful accomplishment by all involved. Well done!

This week, Miss Maylor and Mr Carroll took 10 boarding pupils on a 5-mile (8km) run along the Capel Cliffs pathway. Pupils enjoyed stunning coastal views and glorious evening sunshine throughout the route. It was a great opportunity to show the boarders more of the beautiful local area they call home, while also enjoying some time away from the school site.

The route allowed pupils to run at their own pace, making it an inclusive activity for all abilities. Along the way, pupils enjoyed chatting with friends, getting some fresh air, and taking in the scenery. It was a positive and active evening that promoted both physical wellbeing and an appreciation of the local surroundings.

Congratulations to James (Fourth Form) on an outstanding half-term of motorsport success.

James enjoyed a fantastic two weeks of racing, beginning with a two-day event where he secured 3rd place in the A Final, earning a place in the prestigious "Champ of Champs" race, which he went on to win.

His success continued the following week when he competed against 26 other drivers in a 45-minute karting race, taking an impressive 1st place finish. To round off a memorable half term, James joined his endurance racing team, Phoenix, at Brighton Karting, where he and his teammate secured 3rd place.

Congratulations to Harry on an outstanding weekend of show jumping representing Dover College just before the half-term break.

Harry delivered an excellent performance, winning one class and securing a respectable 7th place in another after an unfortunate pole down.

Most impressively, Harry has now qualified to represent Dover College at the prestigious Hickstead All England Jumping Course in the Individual Championships at two different levels.

A fantastic achievement and a testament to Harry's hard work, dedication and skill. We wish him the very best of luck at Hickstead.
