Some of our October fun

๐ŸŽƒ Weโ€™ve had such an amazing day at the pumpkin farm today! ๐ŸŽƒ

We were joined by two older children who were off school, and they had a fantastic time joining in with all the fun too. The children loved exploring the pumpkin patch โ€” picking up pumpkins, testing their strength, and carefully loading them into the wheelbarrows. The wheelbarrows were a little tricky to steer at times, but everyone showed such brilliant perseverance and teamwork!

The older two kept loading up the wheelbarrow to see how many pumpkins they could manage to push. We talked about the different sizes, shapes, colours, and weights of the pumpkins, and the children were so curious and engaged throughout. They also had lots of fun on the play area and climbing on the hay bales.

I feel so lucky to care for such wonderful children, theyโ€™re kind, caring, and always ready to help one another.

Some of our August Holiday Fun!
Weโ€™ve had such a wonderful summer filled with laughter, learning, and play! One of the things I truly love about my setting is caring for a mix of ages, from our little ones in the Early Years right through to school-aged children.
This blend of ages brings so many benefits. The younger children learn by watching and joining in, while the older children take on lovely role model roles, showing kindness, patience, and leadership. Itโ€™s heart warming to see how beautifully they all play and support each other, creating a real family feel in our setting.
I feel very lucky to spend my days with such a caring, creative, and fun group of children, making memories together throughout the holidays

๐ŸŒ Keeping Children Safe Online ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ–ฅ

Talking to your child about online safety is just as important as teaching them to cross the road or wear a seatbelt. The internet can be a fantastic place for learning, fun, and connecting with others, but it also carries risks.
Open conversations are key, children need to feel they can come to you if something worries them online. By talking regularly, youโ€™ll build their confidence and help them make safer choices.
Here are some simple measures you can put in place:
* Set parental controls on devices and apps.
* Use age-appropriate apps and games.
* Keep devices in shared spaces so you can supervise.
* Agree clear boundaries for screen time and online use.
* Teach them not to share personal details like addresses, schools, or photos.
* Encourage them to speak up if they see or experience anything that makes them uncomfortable.
Remember โ€” you donโ€™t need to know everything about technology, just being interested, available, and open makes a huge difference. There are lots of help and advice online including;

This week we have had lots of fun with the Queens Platinum Jubilee celebrations and activities. We have visited Dover Castle where we got to see the crown ๐Ÿ‘‘ in the keep as well as explored lots in the castle. We also got the chance to see and explore a Fire engine ๐Ÿš’ which tied in lovely with our topic of 'people who help us' we have recently done

This week we have been doing 'People Who Help Us'. We have managed to see lots including visiting the Life boat station, seeing the Royal Navy on their boats, saw the Border Force patrol boat, saw lots of Ambulances, Police cars and a Fire engine. We spoke about other occupations that also help us too. We even did a good deed and became 'people who helped' by rescuing two honey bees ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ which were trapped in the cafe window we had visited, we caught them and released them back outside. We went to the train station, helped buy our tickets and then went on the train to find another life boat station
