This morning, our pupils received their A Level and BTEC results – and we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work, determination, and success.

Overall achievement: The average number of UCAS points per candidate has risen since last year, reflecting the dedication of both pupils and staff.

The Cloisters were transformed yesterday into a stunning gallery, showcasing the exceptional Art and DT work of our pupils for Prize Day guests to enjoy. A heartfelt thank you to Mr Dewick and Miss Higgins for curating such an inspiring and beautifully presented exhibition.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Prize Day yesterday — a fitting celebration of all that has been accomplished at the College this academic year, both individually and as a community. We were blessed with perfect weather, delicious food and drink, and live music performed by our talented pupils, all of which combined to create a truly joyful atmosphere. The day included ceremonies for both the Prep and Senior Schools, the unveiling of the Headmaster’s portrait, and a moving leavers’ service in the College Chapel — a powerful way to mark the end of the year.

Racing Ahead: James in the Driving Seat 🏎️

Current Third Form pupil James is a determined and talented young racing driver with exciting ambitions for the future. After several successful years on the karting circuit, this season marked his debut in car racing — a significant step forward in his motorsport career. Looking ahead to the 2026 season and beyond, James is aiming high, with plans to compete in both the National Autograss and British Autograss Championships. As he accelerates towards the next stage of his development, he is actively seeking partnership and sponsorship opportunities to support his journey.

On Tuesday 25th June we were pleased to welcome to the college Victoria Salmon whose father John Salmon (M 1931 - 1934) and grandfather Joseph Harold Salmon (M 1893 -1896) were both ODs. Victoria donated several items to the archive, for which we are very grateful, and importantly covered not just their time at the College but their lives after school. John fought in Egypt in WW2, and went on to become a surveyor in London.

Old Dovorian Alicia Myers returned to the College earlier this year to film 'Possessed by the Deadline' as part of her final project at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA). We were thrilled to hear of her success at the 2025 Grad Film Awards, where all three films she contributed to received accolades. Congratulations, Alicia – an outstanding achievement!

We’ve been busy behind the scenes, making plans that will give even more families the chance to experience the magic of our Nursery. All will be revealed on Wednesday 18th June – and we can’t wait to share it with you!

Unfortunately, the Friday 13th storm didn’t spare Dover College! We awoke this morning to find both the Refectory and Sports Hall under water. A huge thank you to the incredible staff, boarders, and residents who pulled together—with an impressively varied selection of tools—to clear the water, dry out furniture and equipment, and restore both spaces. Thanks to their efforts, the Refectory is ready for boarders’ supper this evening, and the Sports Hall is fully prepared for the next public examination on Monday. A true team effort—what a community! 💪

We are deeply saddened to share that Tom Eccles (OD) passed away on 2nd June 2025. Tom was a much-loved character whose warmth, humour, and generosity touched the lives of so many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Old Dovorians and friends are warmly invited to a Celebration of Life in honour of Thomas Andrew Eccles.
