Last year was a very good year.
We sponsored...Junior bowling trip, inter house song comp, Musician of the year, Student Christmas raffle, 6th form dinner speaker, WW1 costumes for drama dept, junior square table tennis table, equipment for the Broadcasting club, extra funding towards the 6th form leavers ball and Yr 11 prom, and Yr 9 achievement awards.
A record income, with funds raised of £14,635.61 means we have plenty to share out again this year.
Get your ideas in students. We meet again in January. 😀

Our AGM will be held on Saturday 23rd November at 11am in the AGRoom - Main reception block. Please feel free to join us. Any new parents wishing to join or see how we work please do come along for a taster. We need new members!
We will be appointing a new committee, new Chairman and new Treasurer this year.

The inter house Song Comp went particularly well last night and was a close win...All excellent performances which the students must have worked hard for. Great voices...some humour thrown in...and everyone in the Dukie spirit.
Clive came 1st, Alanbrooke 2nd with only 2 points behind and Kitchener 3rd.

It’s all about the effort!
We were delighted to reward 31 students this morning with Amazon vouchers for their excellent effort last year in Year 9. All year 9’s were in with a chance of achieving the award...all we wanted was great effort. The 31 students receiving the award achieved A’s and B’s in all subjects for effort. Congratulations! Enjoy spending your well earned vouchers!

During our meeting last Saturday it was agreed to approve funding for 50 new ties.
This is the Tie which identifies a ‘Student Peer Listener’ at Doyrms.
Each volunteer trains in order to offer a level of support and guidance to other student peers, so that they can work through their situations. Just one way in which the school offers all round support for those needing a little extra help.

The annual year 7 bowling trip funded by us ... seems to have gone down very well!!!
We are glad to have been able to provide an afternoon of fun for the newbies. Lots of smiles!

Parents & Friends of the school will be meeting at 11am this coming Saturday to discuss the up and coming events this term. Please message us if you’d like to come and join us.
We have a few funding requests to consider, the awards to address for achievement last year by year 10 and 11 students, and the terms fund raisers looming!
Several members naturally left at the end of last year as their children moved on to new pastures...so new members are very welcome...there are plenty of ways to help and become involved...big and small.
