On Thursday 16th July, we welcomed singer-songwriter Luke McAuley, who talked to students in Years 8-10 about topics of cyberbullying, mental health and healthy relationships. Alongside sharing his own experiences, both from the music industry and his personal life, Luke performed a few covers and some of his original songs 🎵

A huge thank you to Luke McAuley for raising awareness of these important issues through such an engaging session, and to The Prime Agency for their support in organising the event!

On Tuesday 14th July, we welcomed Seb and Caitlin from Team Dynamics, who led a team-building workshop for our Year 8 students 🧩

The engaging workshop involved small teams working together to build free-standing domes as efficiently as possible, developing their communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills along the way.

A huge thank you to Seb and Caitlin for joining us and delivering such an exciting and interactive workshop! 🌟

A huge thank you to Dover SMART Project!

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Dover SMART Project for organising such a fantastic Young Carers Conference.
Our young carers thoroughly enjoyed the day and benefited greatly from the opportunity to come together with other young carers from across the area. It was wonderful for them to be part of a wider community, share experiences, and feel recognised for the important role they play.

The event provided valuable opportunities to make new connections, access support, build confidence, and enjoy some well-deserved time focused on themselves.

Thank you to everyone involved in planning and delivering such a positive and meaningful experience. We are grateful for the continued support you provide to young carers and for creating opportunities that help them feel valued, understood, and empowered.

Thank you, Dover SMART Project, for making a difference to the lives of our young carers! 🌟

Celebrating Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

This Pride Month, we proudly fly the Pride flag as a symbol of our commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all.

At our school, we support and celebrate our LGBTQ+ students, staff, families, and wider community. We believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and able to be themselves.

Together, we continue to foster a culture of kindness, acceptance, and belonging, where diversity is celebrated and every individual is respected!

We are always looking to expand this amazing day by welcoming members of the local community to run stalls, activities and demonstrations. If you are able to support in any way, or know of anyone in the community who may be interested, we would love to hear from you!

With literacy at the heart of our priorities, working with the University of Kent has never been more important and the ‘Arguing with Confidence’ programme has been a roaring success this term!

For the second year in a row, collaborating with David Smith on this project has allowed our young people to develop their literacy, oracy and debating skills. The culmination of the 6 week project in a Moot Court, developed the most amazing confidence in our speakers and we cannot thank David and the University ambassadors enough for their belief and support! 👏
