A very special message to begin National Cadet Week!

We are incredibly proud to share a message from His Majesty The King, recognising the dedication, service and achievements of cadets across the country, as well as the volunteers who make these opportunities possible.

At Astor, our CCF is supported by dedicated volunteers from our teaching staff, support staff and parent community, who give their time to train, encourage and inspire our cadets - with fantastic backing from our Senior Leadership Team and Headteacher.

A wonderful way to begin National Cadet Week 2026! ✨

🎖️ NATIONAL CADET WEEK IS COMING TO ASTOR! 🎖️
5th – 8th October

We’re making some noise about the amazing young people who represent Astor in cadet and uniformed organisations!

⭐️ CADETS - THIS ONE’S FOR YOU!
Wear your uniform to school ALL WEEK and show everyone what you’re part of. Just make sure you’re looking sharp and following your organisation’s uniform regulations.

⭐ Tutor time will be getting involved too, with activities celebrating the skills, confidence, leadership and opportunities that cadets develop.

⭐️ Astor has a proud history of supporting our CCF, and our commitment to the Armed Forces community continues through our Armed Forces Covenant and Bronze Employer Recognition Award.

WEAR IT. REPRESENT IT. OWN IT.
Let’s make our cadets visible! ✨

“The real world requires people to be on time. It requires them to work with people they do not like. It requires them to listen before they respond. It requires them to finish things when they are tired. It requires them to handle correction without falling apart. It requires them to understand that their attitude affects everyone around them.

None of that is mean. It’s just reality. Kids need that preparation. Good schools don’t just try to help kids pass classes. Good schools will try to help kids become the kind of people who walk into the next chapter of life with character, discipline, humility, and confidence. That kind of education will always matter.”
