Hi there everyone, hope you’ve all had a happy and safe summer break. A reminder that we don’t open again until Monday 11th September.
Good luck to all of our children that left us in July who start school or nursery very soon! We will be thinking of how excited you will be in your new placements 😊x

Always a sad day for us at Dove Chicks, saying “goodbye” to those leaving us for pre-school or school!
But this morning we had a teddy bears picnic, pizza, and cakes to celebrate their time with us. Each child leaving had a leavers card and present to take with them.
Many thanks to all of those who have supported us this last year, our helpers, our bakers, and our lovely children who we have watched grow so much.

For our last session next Monday before the summer break, we have planned a teddy bear indoor picnic, so feel free to bring your picnic blankets and teddy bears! We are providing pizza for the children and saying ‘goodbye’ to the children who start school and preschool in September 😊.
We’d really appreciate if any of our bakers out there could bring in cake for the adults and mini cakes for the children if possible.
Please let us know if you are planning to bring anything in.

We are fast approaching the break for the summer holidays at Dove Chicks. We like to have a little celebration and say a very special ‘goodbye’ on the last week, (17th July), for the children who have been with us who are leaving to go to school or
pre-school in September.

If your child is leaving us to go into Reception or pre-school in September, and you have not already let us know, please let us know asap so we don’t miss saying our goodbyes to them.

It’s always quite a sad time for us to see them go, but also a huge privilege to have shared their time at Dove Chicks with them and with you. Thankyou 😊x

There will be no Dove Chicks session on 3 July, due to an INSET day at Dove Holes Primary School.

The last few sessions before breaking for summer will continue as normal, on 26 June, 10 July and 17 July. 🐥 x

We are painting tomorrow ready for Father’s Day gifts. Please come in older clothes! We use washable paints, but they can still stain light coloured clothes 😊x

Dove Chicks enjoyed a Coronation picnic, whilst the adults had scones with jam and cream.
The children enjoyed wearing the crowns they had made and decorated!
A huge thank you as always to everyone who helped out and to Claire J Wood for making the lovely scones. 😊

There will be no Dove Chicks sessions on 1st and 8th May due to two bank holidays. After today’s session, we will return on 15th May 😊

Don’t forget your picnic blanket and picnic snack/lunch for your child today! Scones with jam and cream will be provided for the adults 🐥

We are having an indoor picnic on Monday 24th April to celebrate the upcoming Coronation. Please bring a picnic lunch/snack for your child, and scones with jam and cream will be supplied for the adults. Don’t forget a picnic blanket too if you have one.
Please could you bring an item/items for a £1 stall that Dove Chicks are hosting at a Coronation event if you have any suitable items.

Easter has come early to our Dove Chicks this morning! We decorated Easter rabbits and eggs for our tree, and had an Easter Egg hunt in the church 🐣 x

Happy Mother’s Day to all our lovely Dove Chicks mums out there. A special shout out to grandmas too! Enjoy your special day ladies❤️x

We’ve had fun colouring in animals today! We have lots of exciting activities planned for you in the next few weeks for Mothering Sunday, our Easter egg hunt, and a picnic at the park for the Coronation in May, weather permitting! 🐥😊x

Join us for a morning of fun at Dove Chicks, you’ll always be made to feel very welcome! We are colouring this morning, and there’ll be lots of nice toys to play with, a snack for children, tea/coffee and biscuit for adults.😊🐥

We have had a lovely morning at Dove Chicks decorating heart biscuits for Valentine’s Day ❤️. A huge thankyou to Claire for making the biscuits for us x Claire J Wood. Reminder that there is no session next week as it is half term, but we return on Monday 27th February.

You are welcome to join us on Tuesday 21st Feb for our annual pancake party at the church from 5pm. Entry is free but donations welcome. Donations are always given to a village organisation or charity😊x

Lovely morning at Dove Chicks today! So nice to have several new faces, and some babies too!
We will soon be making activities for Valentine’s Day. ❤️ xx

Due to the increased costs of water, heat and also the increases of the cost of food, we are changing the price structure at Dove Chicks to enable us to cover our costs more effectively.
We offer a comprehensive snack for the children, as well as regular activities, and gifts and chocolates at Easter and Christmas, and adults can have tea/coffee and a biscuit too.
From 16th January, the price will be £2 per adult, and 50p per child.
We hope this doesn’t impact our families too much, as we would be very upset if this created a barrier to anyone attending, but we must also be able to cover our costs to be able to carry on offering the provision that we offer.

We’ve had fun decorating the Christmas tree at church and doing many Christmas activities over the last two weeks. Huge thanks to Victoria for organising the Christmas biscuit activity! The children had a biscuit with their snack too! 😊
Our session on Monday is taking place at the Village Hall at the same time. This will be the last session before Christmas 🎄⛄️❄️x

Anything On Everything

At Dove Chicks we are very much into Christmas already. We’ve been starting to make snowman Christmas cards and baubles. Lots of glitter and glue! Next week we are decorating the church Christmas tree and making paper chains. ⛄️ 🎄 x

We will be using lots of black paint on Monday at Dove Chicks to make our soooky spiders! 🕷 Even though this is ‘washable’ paint, it can still leave marks on fabric, so please come in older clothing just in case! We will also be using icing sugar, so a very messy morning is in store!

We are having a little party at Dove Chicks on Monday 31st October, to celebrate bonfire night. We are making chocolate sparklers and spooky spiders! We have asked adults to bring in an item of food to help out. If you name isn’t on the list below, please feel free to bring something suitable for the children or adults to eat at snack time. It’s that time of year when there are so many different viruses about again. 😢
A child who attended yesterday’s session has been diagnosed with Scarlet Fever today. It is very contagious, so please be mindful if your child develops any symptoms of it.

As always, we hope the little one soon feels better. 😊

We have had a child attend our session today, and they have unfortunately since found to be suffering from hand, foot and mouth disease.

Huge apologies for the very short notice, but due to staff sickness, we are having to cancel today’s session of Dove Chicks. I’m sure we will be back to normal next week! As a mark of respect to the Royal family, Dove Chicks will not take place on Monday 19th September. The funeral of the Queen will take place on this day and it is also a bank holiday. Thankyou 🐥x

A truly sad day today. Our thoughts are with the members of the Royal family tonight who have lost their mum, grandmother and great grandmother.
What a gracious, loyal and dignified lady. Rest in peace ❤️.
