Get ready for a 7-week adventure through the Roald Dahl classic: 'George's Marvellous Medicine' 📚
Each week we'll dive into the story, exploring it through a mixture of fun, hands-on activities with a particular focus on reading and writing development. We'll enjoy meeting the characters, exploring the vocabulary, making predictions, getting creative with our ideas and bringing the story to life.
Children will have opportunities to gently develop their reading, vocabulary, comprehension, speaking, listening, writing and storytelling skills all while immersing themselves in Roald Dahl's marvellous world of silliness and fun!
Sessions will be linked to objectives within the National Curriculum for English (Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2).
This drop-off group is aimed at Home Educated children aged 4-11. There is no need to have your own copy of the book unless you would like to. Spaces are limited! 🥰

So proud of these children who are continuing to work so hard throughout their summer holidays! Today's 1:1 sessions have covered:
✨ Subtraction
✨ Problem solving
✨ Arrays
✨ Formal methods of multiplication
✨ Reading and spelling of Common Exception Words
✨ Dictation
✨ Editing
✨ Punctuating speech accurately
It's such a pleasure to see these children growing in confidence, challenging themselves beyond what they think they are able to do, embracing mistakes and seeing the pride they take in their work 🥰

🌞 Summer Holiday Sessions 🌞
Calling all creative builders 👷🧑🔧
This will be a fun-filled session where we will work together to design, plan and create our own 'Dream Town' using building bricks, magnetic tiles, junk modelling and many other resources to bring our ideas to life! 💭
We will also consider the important aspects of a friendly, caring community and how we can contribute positively to our communities in our lives.

Today we finished off our Summer Safari in Australia!
We created our own natural paints, learnt about Aboriginal artwork, discovered incredible facts about Australian animals, took part in active challenges and games as well as sharing a story to bring it all together 🥰
One of the children in the group is currently visiting from Australia so was able to add so much to the session by sharing his experiences - nothing beats real life learning! 🦘

Summer Safari - Session 2 ✅
We climbed a Kapok tree in the Amazon Rainforest, saw the sights, learnt about the plants and animals living there and also considered how we can help to protect these incredible places!
Food testing is always a highlight and mango was definitely the favourite 🥭
Tomorrow we are heading for Australia! There are two spaces left if you'd like to join us and earn your passport stamp! 🌍
