Amazing day yesterday welcoming the Browns Book Bus to Twynham. An interactive library just full of the best choice of books! 📚👌 📚

Just an example of the huge variations of returned books we received today! Its like this everyday... lots of revision for history clearly and that huge fashion bible!

Another year, another amazing author visit this time from Maz Evans author of ‘Who Let The God’s Out’. An absolutely fantastic talk for the whole of year 7 with games, humour and teachers battling it out to become Olympian God’s; all in the name of promoting reading and Literacy to our young people. Maz stayed in the library at lunch to answer questions and sign books which was hugely popular with the year group. Her message is keep going no matter what happens in life. There is always hope.

So proud to host Mrs Knight’s fabulous community care home Christmas celebration! Thank you so much to our wonderful year 9s, year 10s and Twynham Primary’s year 3s for all your hard work. An absolute joy- many of the residents blown away by the talent of Twynham.

So the books have been delivered and are slowly making their way onto the brand new shelves. So we feel the time is right to share some very exciting news!!! Before the end of last term Miss Elliott and myself secured a substantial amount funding from the fantastic Foyle’s foundation to create and build a brand new library for The Grange School. Today all that hard work has been so worth it with the first delivery of 500 of the 1000 books for the lucky students of The Grange to enjoy. For those who are not aware- The Grange is now part of Twynham’s MAT (multi academy trust) and we are extremely proud to be working across all the schools in the MAT, creating a strong unified culture and love of reading and a strong foundation of literacy for all our students. The grand opening is in January! Can’t wait for the finished result! Certainly one of the best and most worthwhile projects We have ever been part of ❤️📚

Bookmas came to Twynham Library last week! Thanks to our wonderful sixth form reps for all their hard and creative work! 🎄

7LFU the winning tutor of our Reading Challenge 2017 celebrating their Dominies pizza lunch. They read a total of 144 books between January and June, beating the runners up by 40 books...Such a fantastic achievement! All so polite and thankful to the literacy department for arranging such a great treat! And well done to all of year 7 for taking part!

Another half term finished for Twynham Library and what a term it was! So wonderful to see lots of our students busily collecting their reading for the Easter holidays! Heres some pictures to remind of us of our fabulous author visit, the annual year 7 reading challenge and the hard work of our fantastic library reps. Happy Easter!

Year 7 were honoured to have a visit from the wonderful M G Leonard author of the amazing Beetle Boy (soon to be) trilogy. They were inspired and captivated by her expert talk on reading and all things creepy crawly 🐞 And had the opportunity to meet with her in the library and have their books signed curtesy of the fantastic Pea Green Boat Books.
