Burton Day Nursery
It is an acknowledged fact, that young children best learn and develop everyday skills through play.
At Burton Day Nursery, we have created a philosophy of care and play, which although necessarily structured, will afford your children an environment within which they should feel safe, happy and loved.

Advice on screen time
On 27 March 2026, the Government published advice on screen use for children aged 0-5 on the Best Start in Life website.
The early years are a critical period for children’s development. The advice offers practical, non-judgemental support to help families balance screen use with other activities.
The advice is informed by an expert panel’s independent report, which draws on quantitative and qualitative research, including engagement with parents, carers and stakeholders.

This is not to alarm anyone just to make people aware of the symptoms of bacterial meningitis given that there has been lots of news about an outbreak in Kent.
All younger children will be routinely vaccinated against MenB- as they started including it in immunisation schedules from 2015. However any older siblings or relatives over the ages of 10 will not have been routinely vaccinated so it is always good to be made aware of symptoms and when to access help.

What's the story of the zodiac animals?
12 chinese zodiac animals
The order of the zodiac years comes from a traditional legend called The Great Race - where 12 animals raced across a river as part of a challenge set by the Jade Emperor - one of the most important gods in traditional Chinese religion.
The animals all wanted a year to be named after them so they competed to cross the river the fastest, and, using cunning, the rat won.
Then the other animals got to be named after a year in the order they finished the race.
There are some differences in the zodiac animals across different countries, for example in Vietnam, they celebrate the Year of the Cat instead of Rabbit and in Japan it's a boar instead of a pig.
