I have been teaching English and Drama for over 20 years. I worked briefly as a professional actor before deciding to pursue a degree in creative writing for stage & screen. I also obtained a PGCE teaching qualification from Cambridge University to pursue a career in teaching English and Drama at secondary level.

I have been working as Head of English within an international online language school for the last 18 months, and have tutored numerous students towards English National Curriculum targets as well as other examinations. I am always looking to expand my professional development and recently enrolled on a CELTA course to teach English as a foreign language which I will complete in June. During my teaching career I have worked for several exam boards including OCR and Edexcel. This has given me a invaluable insight into the demands of particular specifications at secondary level within UK schools.

I have written numerous children's plays, some published and performed worldwide. One particular play Macbeth on the Loose (2002) is published by Pearson and has sold over 10,000 copies. It is used extensively in English classrooms to assist with the study of Shakespeare at Key Stage 3. I enjoy using my skills as an actor and writer to turn the online classroom into a truly dynamic and creative learning space.
