Little birdies Childminding

We started our week with some paddling pool fun with our friends at ABC Childminding Services..

We made a den in the garden, it was a good way of hiding from the sun…the children enjoyed setting up a kitchen and picnic area too.

We did some painting…instead of using paint brushes we used cotton buds, so the older children were very careful making their marks with some great fine motor control, while the smaller children enjoyed the sensory experience through their fingers too.

The children decorated some sails and made their own noodle boats, we had some fun boat races by blowing them along to see how fast they would sail!

No matter how warm it is outside the children love to bake when inside! Warm cinnamon biscuits which looked great with some pink icing of course!

I love my profession, I just wish there was more respect given to us.......

We have had a busy couple of weeks…

Outdoor adventures…ball games…

Baking our favourites…Blackberry muffins and some banana bread!

Block play - some great creativity!

We made Cherry bubble foam!! - some messy sensory fun and lots of pink hands afterwards!

We visited Highcliffe castle grounds and created our own ice cream shop, did some tree rubbings and enjoyed practicing our balancing and climbing skills.

We went to Stanpit marsh, explored the nature hut and found some juicy Blackberries along the way…

We were lucky to have a visit from Krazy Kangas alongside our friends.

We ended our week with a visit to the beach with our friends Sandra's shining stars Childminding and had a treasure hunt 🪎…What fun!!

Some of the things we have been up to the last couple of weeks…

The children have been challenging themselves with some puzzles, and helping the younger children too…lots of problem solving, working as a team and taking turns.

Water play in the garden…when a colour is added it can become anything! We had strawberry tea, raspberry smoothies and watermelon milkshakes!

We set up a car wash 💦

We celebrated with our friends from ABC Childminding Services and Sandra's shining stars Childminding with a graduation party, some party games and fun together and saying goodbye to some children who are off to Big school!

We had a visit to the beach this week and the children collected some big stones to decorate on our return.

We had a visit from a lovely volunteer from the RNLI to talk to us and our friends about Water safety, a great way to bring awareness to the children though an interactive session, we listened to a story and learnt a new song too!

A lovely week of being outdoors, we found some much needed shade and made the most of it!
Outdoor games…parachute fun….bubbles…stories…hide n seek…

We enjoyed a Teddy bears picnic with our friends from ABC Childminding Services & Sandra's shining stars Childminding, sharing favourite stories, some fun races and challenges with our Teddies!

We are carefully caring for our sunflowers which are needing lots of water and the children are keen to always compare how tall they are becoming…hoping for a 🌻 soon!

Another lovely care home visit to finish off our week ☺️

This week some of the bigger children visited their new school which was very exciting!

Baking started off our week with some yummy Banana bread…

We explored some ice play introducing pippets, brushes and chalks, the children enjoyed trying to melt the ice and using some characters too to splash in their very own swimming pool!

We visited our friends Sandra's shining stars Childminding for a fun music and movement session.

Lots of block play being creative and shape sorting.

A craft moment practicing our scissor skills and making some great collages.

Another lovely visit to the care home to end our week ☺️

This week was all about keeping cool!!

We enjoyed lots of water & ice play 💦

Indoor dominoes…baking some yummy cupcakes and when it was too hot outside the ice play came inside! 💦

We did brave it out to find the shade with some ball games, a walk round the lake and ended up having a lovely paddle in the stream too….

We finished our week with a visit to Avon Reach with a sing song and story…sharing some special moments with the residents ☺️…
And before hometime a much needed cool down in the paddling pool 😎 💦

It was a quick half term week and we did our best to keep cool with lots of sand & water play in the garden…we enjoyed the park and some fun games with our friends in the sunshine!

Last week the rain was back so the children set up a picnic indoors…we made dens and enjoyed some pasta play too!

Playing in the sand was even more fun because it was wet!! So that was great for making sandcastles and using the diggers and dumper trucks to move it around….

We finished our week with a visit to the care home with a story and singalong with the residents ☺️

To celebrate ‘World Bee day’ 🐝 we engaged in some fun activities, shared some fun facts and enjoyed the story of ‘The very greedy bee!’

We had a lovely walk to Steamers point and had lots of pit stops along the way! ….the climbing tree, the big field, past the building site and finally the nature hut!
Lots to explore, physical play, and lots of conversations between friends ☺️

We finished our week off with a visit to the beach with our friends from Sandra's shining stars Childminding..a perfect way to enjoy the sunshine 🌞

Nothing beats a cardboard box!!
It became an Art easel…a tent…a car ramp and when it got flattened it was a trampoline!

The children had fun racing the cars and when the rain stopped we took the fun outside too!

The children planted some more Sunflower seeds.

The bigger children have been identifying the first letter of their names through various activities, this week they used their fine motor skills to carefully mark them with stickers and also had some fun chalking their taped letter on the wall.

We visited Stanpit Marsh and explored the nature hut which the children love to do…the children spotted a soldier beetle too!
