It was a quick half term week and we did our best to keep cool with lots of sand & water play in the garden…we enjoyed the park and some fun games with our friends in the sunshine!
Last week the rain was back so the children set up a picnic indoors…we made dens and enjoyed some pasta play too!
Playing in the sand was even more fun because it was wet!! So that was great for making sandcastles and using the diggers and dumper trucks to move it around….
We finished our week with a visit to the care home with a story and singalong with the residents ☺️

We had a lovely walk to Steamers point and had lots of pit stops along the way! ….the climbing tree, the big field, past the building site and finally the nature hut!
Lots to explore, physical play, and lots of conversations between friends ☺️
We finished our week off with a visit to the beach with our friends from Sandra's shining stars Childminding..a perfect way to enjoy the sunshine 🌞

Nothing beats a cardboard box!!
It became an Art easel…a tent…a car ramp and when it got flattened it was a trampoline!
The children had fun racing the cars and when the rain stopped we took the fun outside too!
The children planted some more Sunflower seeds.
The bigger children have been identifying the first letter of their names through various activities, this week they used their fine motor skills to carefully mark them with stickers and also had some fun chalking their taped letter on the wall.
We visited Stanpit Marsh and explored the nature hut which the children love to do…the children spotted a soldier beetle too!

Last week ‘D’ brought in her mermaid from home as she wanted to show us how it changed colour in the water….
This lead to making our own mermaids and getting creative on some rocks we had collected from the beach.
We have had lots of opportunities of mark making with some shadow drawing, and chalking on our big letters on the wall.
Mark making at different levels is always great for core strength, gross and fine motor control.
We had some fun outdoors being creative with Dandelions and parachute games….a walk to see all the lovely mosiac art along the beach wall and of course a play in the sand!
We finished our week with a visit to Sandra's shining stars Childminding to see the caterpillars which seem to be growing very fast!
The children enjoyed the story sack, leaf art and learning a new caterpillar song! 🐛

Our days have been full of outdoor learning & exploring…..
The children have been enjoying nature walks, mini beast hunts, climbing, games and lots of fresh air!
It’s lovely to see the children sharing experiences and curiosity with each other, sparking conversations about what they have noticed or experienced…along with taking risks and challenging themselves through physical play.
Whilst being out we spotted our chance to collect some dandelions too and made some yummy biscuits.
A great team effort, and of course they went down very well at snack time!

This week we have been talking about the things that make us happy, people we love and the importance of being kind ☺️, we have shared the story of the colour monster which has been a great way to explore some of our emotions too.
We started our week with a visit to the beach a choice voted by the children!…Luckily the rain held off and we had a very muddy welly walk and an animal themed healthy movers session outside with our friends…we baked some yummy biscuits and enjoyed some sensory play!
We always end our week with a lovely visit to the care home which is another favourite place of ours ❤️
