Sometimes, the behaviour we see is only the surface. 💚

A meltdown might be a sign of overwhelm.
Withdrawal might mean, “I need some space.”
Refusal might be a way of saying, “This feels too much right now.”

Instead of only asking, “How do I stop this behaviour?”, we can pause and ask:

“What is my child trying to communicate?”

Looking beyond the behaviour allows us to respond with more patience, compassion, and understanding. Every behaviour has a reason, and every child deserves to feel heard. 🌿🐾
