You have been trying lots of different ways to comfort and settle your baby to sleep … yet they still keep waking through the night

It’s not due to bad habits
Not how they are fed
Not due to overtiredness

It is the approach

Your baby is loved, they are fed and they are capable of sleeping well

But the internet and the sleep app?
They don’t know your baby
They don’t know your babies specific sleep needs or temperament

You have tried following advice with recommended awake windows and nap lengths but your baby will not follow suit

You have tried giving space and it ends in tears and stress

You have tried lots of comfort but the wakings continue

You need a schedule, a plan and guidance that is tailored to your baby

If you are ready to enjoy your evenings whilst your baby peacefully drifts to sleep and regain that time to yourself

To go to bed feeling relaxed and reassured knowing your baby will sleep long stretches

DM me the word SUPPORT to hear how this can be made possible ✨

Breast feeding was not the mistake BUT

Staying stuck in the cycle of frequent night feeds is exhausting 😴

Mum to 10 month old Harriet had struggled with postpartum emotions and really felt she had lost her whole identity since becoming a mum

With every bedtime. Every night waking. Every nap. All being completely dependent on mum.

Breast feeding was going really well and felt natural to mum but the sole dependency on her for Harriet to sleep was taking a mental toll

Her head barely touching the pillow before the next wake up and mum often lying awake in the middle of the night feeling anxious when the next wake up would come

Night 5️⃣: Harriet was able to fall asleep with no intervention from mum and just her presence enabled her to feel secure to drift off to sleep peacefully

Night 7️⃣ : mum was able to confidently leave the room and watch Harriet on the monitor whilst she happily fell asleep with no interference or tears

Night 8️⃣: Harriet slept her first solid night in her own cot without any night wakings 👏

Night 1️⃣2️⃣ : mum and dad enjoyed a date night and left Harriet in the safe hands of granny with no issues

The key 🔑 the right approach, guidance and consistency

Ava initially was waking 3 times a night which mum had found manageable but since she reached
4 months those wakings multiplied over night

Ava was waking every hour of the night and would only settle back to sleep on mums breast

She would resort to co sleeping by 1am but this still did not stop the wakings

Mum would start her day feeling hungover and experienced constant brain fog

The dependency of Ava to sleep was taking its toll on mum

With no rest during the day as dad was working and Ava again could only sleep on mums breast

Mum reached out to me and felt guilty for expressing her true feelings and how she was mentally struggling but knew how blessed she was to have a beautiful healthy baby girl

Questioning whether this was normal for Ava to be waking so frequently at this age

Parents were not expecting any miracles as they knew she was still young but just simply to have a 3-4 hour stretch of unbroken sleep at night and maybe the option to put Ava down in the cot for a nap

Here are the 3️⃣ main changes we made ⬇️

➡️ We moved away from the strong sleep associations first (the feeding to sleep and co sleeping) to gently guide Ava to self settle and feel safe in her cot

➡️We helped Ava learn to fall back to sleep during the night a new way, so she did not need to latch on to mums breast for every waking - this shifted those 9 comfort feeds to 1 good quality feed

➡️We followed a new sleep scheduled that specifically aligned with her sleep needs and ensured Ava had the right balance of sleep and sleep pressure for the nights

Ava was sleeping a solid 11 hours by night 5 of my support 👏

You are feeling exacerbated and the frequency of the night feeds is starting to take its toll

You are running on empty and feel guilty for feeling trapped 😮‍💨

Here is the truth 🤱⬇️

Your baby is not waking every 20-60 minutes to suckle because they are hungry … they are waking because comforting on your breast or bottle is the only way they know how to settle back to sleep

It is understandable you feel drained, touched out and at a loss

As a Certified Gentle Sleep Consultant having worked with hundreds of babies, I can reassure you there is an easier way

It is not about leaving your baby to feel alone or work it out for themselves

We gently guide and support them to learn to sleep a new way by remaining responsive

And leading to better quality sleep for you all ✨

Mum booked a free call with me after a recommendation from another local family and within 3 minutes of speaking together she broke down in tears

They had waited nearly 12 months in the hope Adelaide sleep would naturally improve and mum felt torn

She felt guilty for considering ‘sleep training’ but also knew their family could not continue this way especially now she was back at work too

They had done extensive online research and felt very apprehensive

Mum described her nervous system being completely shattered and going ahead felt like taking a leap of hope but she would put her full trust in me

4 nights later mum again very emotional but with tears of happiness.. Adelaide slept through the night on just night 3 and after night 4 of her sleeping through she was feeling hopeful it wasn’t just a fluke

From spending their evenings rocking for hours and that feeling of defeat every time they placed Adelaide in the cot she would wake just seconds later and the whole process started again

With Adelaide being heavier and growing quickly the rocking was taking a physical toll on mum and dads back

By the fifth attempt to settle Adelaide back in her cot at midnight they would resort to cuddling Adelaide in their bed .. but everyone still really struggling to sleep well with Adelaide’s constant movement and parents feeling nervous with her being in their bed

I told mum a story to help her to understand sleep more from Adelaide’s perspective

“Co sleeping and being cuddled rocked in their arms was currently the only way she knew how to sleep and what she expected every bedtime, night time and nap time. Imagine the feeling for mum to fall asleep on the sofa in the evening and to wake up somewhere different would feel very disorienting. Adelaide was not broken and she is an incredible sleeper, she just needed all of the pieces of the puzzle and the guidance to get to this stage”

Instead of dreading her evenings mum can now relax and unwind with the confidence knowing Adelaide can peacefully and independently settle herself to sleep whilst mum can cook a delicious dinner for the two of them

Parents to 11 month old A came to me out of desperation and could never even envision baby A falling asleep without the tears

Let alone falling asleep in her cot with no rocking or cuddling

It felt like a distant dream 💭

But here we are just 4 nights later and parents have regained their evenings

My 1:1 sleep support gave them the confidence to have a weekend away together as they knew baby A could independently settle to sleep happily for someone else

Just 10 days ago first time mum to 9 month old Henry felt like she had hit rock bottom

Her nervous system falling apart and feeling anxious every time Henry was due to sleep

Following the Huckleberry app and trying her best to fill him up with as many feeds through the day

But sleep was consuming her… with no confidence to leave the house because Henry would only nap on mum whilst she was sat on the sofa or continuously swaying him in her arms

A cycle she felt trapped in from the start to the end of the day

Accepting this was possibly how her maternity leave would be, not eating a proper meal until her husband would return home in the evening

To now ✨

Waking for the day feeling energised and confident

Her back is no longer sore from sitting in awkward uncomfortable positions for hours

She now has the time to take a shower and put herself together every morning

The energy and hands free time to make dinner for when her husband is home

Her mind now feels clear with her never ending to do list complete, washing on the line and house clean again

Feeling confident in herself to leave the house because Henry is no longer solely reliant to sleep on her for daytime naps and she knows he can nap in the pram whilst on a walk with mum friends having a chat

The days are gone with him screaming and fighting every nap and instead she can now place him down in his cot to sleep for a whole hour!

Contact naps and cuddles are still enjoyed but mum now has balance to her days and feels like she has regained herself
