Dorchester Community Nursery School offers high quality pre-school education in a purpose built Nursery with a spacious main hall and a quiet room. The Nursery is very well equipped with a large selection of stimulating toys and activities. There is a superb, safe enclosed garden with ride on toys, slide and climbing activities, ad

venture castle, wendy house, willow tunnel, and vegetable garden. Our “Outdoor Classroom” enables the children to play outside even on wet days. We have well qualified, experienced, caring staff, who genuinely enjoy working at the Nursery, enabling us to provide the very best in pre-school nursery education. The Nursery takes children from around the age of 2 years 6 months up until they start school. Nursery funding is available from the term after your child’s 3rd birthday.

The children had a lovely time sharing lunch time together. We cannot wait to rerun after the summer holidays. 🌞

What a fantastic way to end the term as we celebrated our amazing children who are now ready for their next big adventure... Big School! 🎓❤️
Watching each and every one of you grow in confidence, independence and curiosity has been an absolute privilege. From your very first days with us to the wonderful, resilient and caring children you've become, it has been an unforgettable journey.

To all of our families, thank you for your continued support throughout the year. Together we've created so many wonderful memories that we'll treasure for years to come.

To our children moving on... be brave, keep smiling, keep exploring and never stop believing in yourselves. We know you'll all do amazing things, and you'll always be a part of the DCNS family. 💚

💦🕶️ MISSION COMPLETE! 🕶️💦

Yesterday, our little agents received their Top Secret Mission Briefing...

🎯 Mission: Get the staff SOAKED!

Well... we're delighted (and very soggy!) to report that Mission: Water Fight was a HUGE success! 🌊😂

The children arrived ready for action, armed with water squirters, and the biggest smiles. They worked brilliantly together to make sure no member of staff escaped without getting absolutely drenched! 💧🤣

There was so much laughter, excitement and teamwork throughout the morning, and it's safe to say the children definitely won this battle! Even the staff had an amazing time joining in the fun.

A huge thank you to all our families for helping our little agents come prepared with their water gear and spare clothes.

💛🏡 Friendships Continue to Grow at Clandon House 🏡💛

We are now four weeks into our visits to Clandon House, and it's been so special to see the relationships between the children and residents really beginning to blossom.

This week, the children confidently wandered around Clandon House, gently knocking on doors to invite their friends to come and join us for our session. It was a lovely moment that showed just how comfortable and connected they are becoming.

Together, we started with a fun game of Keepy Uppy using a balloon, followed by lots of laughter with the parachute before finishing with an interactive story that everyone could enjoy.
Watching these friendships grow week by week is a privilege, and the smiles on everyone's faces say it all. 💛

We're already looking forward to our next exciting milestone in a few weeks' time, when we'll be heading over to enjoy lunch together. We can't wait to create even more wonderful memories!

🏅🌙 The Night Before Sports Day… 🌙🏅

'Twas the night before Sports Day, and all through DCNS,
The excitement was growing… who would be the best?

The red, yellow, purple, green and blue teams are ready,
With running shoes waiting and nerves becoming steady.

The children are dreaming of jumps, kicks and races,
With big happy smiles upon all of their faces.

There’s hurdles to leap and a trampoline bounce,
Weight lifting challenges where muscles count!

Balance will be tested, footballs will fly,
With cheers from our families reaching the sky.

We’ll rotate through stations, trying our best,
Remembering that teamwork matters more than the rest.

Then the relay races will bring plenty of cheer,
As teammates encourage those they hold dear.

And don’t tell the grown-ups… let’s keep it quiet please 🤫
There might be a race that will bring them to their knees!

So rest up tonight and dream of the fun,
Tomorrow’s Sports Day is going to be one to remember for everyone!

Where do we even begin… what an absolutely amazing Right Royal Day we had at DCNS! 🌞🎉

It was truly heartwarming to see our community come together – past, present and future families, local businesses, volunteers, entertainers and supporters all enjoying a fantastic day together. The smiles, laughter and memories made are exactly what DCNS is all about.

The final total is in and we are absolutely blown away to announce that together we raised an incredible…

This is an unbelievable achievement and will make such a difference to the opportunities and experiences we can continue to provide for our children.

There are so many people to thank that we simply couldn't name everyone in one post. From those who donated prizes, sponsored stalls, gave their time to set up and run activities, entertained our families, shared our posts and simply came along to support us – every single contribution played a part in making the day such a huge success.

This event truly showed the power of our community and the values we strive to teach our children: kindness, teamwork and supporting one another.

It's 6am and there is a real buzz of excitement in the air! In just a few hours our incredible team of volunteers will be arriving to transform DCNS into the perfect setting for our Right Royal Day Summer Fayre. 🎉

The weather is looking amazing 🌞🙌🏻 and we cannot wait to open our doors at 11am to welcome our past, present and future families, friends and wider community.
