An important reminder to be mindful when taking back to school/first day of school photos 💚

A quick reminder before Thursday morning that back to school photos can often give away far too much about a child that may leave them vulnerable to predators.

Here are some tips for those who enjoy sharing photos with family and friends:

- Always ask your child's permission before sharing their image online, and respect their choices if they say no. Their trust is more important than a few likes.

- Make sure no one can share the image. Add a watermark to images that will show if they are copied and reposted.

- Make sure any visual clues that point to your address (like a number on a front door, or a noticeable porch) and your childs school (uniform, logo, book bag, class name) are covered up before uploading to socials, as stickers and pixelated effects, can be removed digitally.

- Set your privacy settings to a select group of friends and choose only those whom you trust.

What a fun afternoon at our Summer Social - everyone welcome! ☀️ and the weather held out 🤩🙌🏼

We had some fun games of no rules rounders (okay, maybe a few rules 😅), the kids played in the park and the adults got to chat!

Thank you to the 14 families who joined us today - we had a blast! Already looking forward to the next one 💚

We wish all our wonderful year 4 leavers the best of luck as they move on to their middle school journeys at St Osmunds and DMS 💚

As we enter the last day of this school year, it's extra emotional as we say farewell to our longest serving trustee - Jodie Philpott 💚

Jodie has seen both her children through St Mary's now, served as Chair for 2 years, and remained a trustee for the remaining years. An absolute fountain of knowledge, bundle of positive energy and all round amazing person 🤗

It was only fitting that she got her very own leavers hoodie! Jodie we will miss you SO much - thank you for all you have done for the School Association over the last 8 years 💚

As another school year comes to an end, we wanted to take the opportunity to share just how incredible this year has been.

It's been packed full of events - some brand new and some returning favourites. It's been a whole lot of fun and we've raised incredible money along the way!

This school year, we have been able to support the school with:

💚 Subsidising trips for years 1 and 3
💚 Annual commitments of paying for all children to visit the life education van and watch the panto
💚 Paying for each class to purchase new love to read books
💚 Significantly contributed towards the Seedlings gardening project
💚 Purchasing christmas trees for each classroom
💚 Contributing to the year 4 play in a day Shakespeare workshop
💚 Paying for BugFest to visit during Science week
💚 Continuing the tradition of purchasing hoodies for our year 4 leavers

The biggest thank you to you all for supporting us for another year 🥹 We are getting together on Friday 21st August for fish & chips and a game of rounders at the big park in Charlton Down and we would LOVE you all to join us! We will share more info here soon, keep your eyes peeled 👀
